My 10 year old grandson and i (60) hiked this track together. The area is bursting to life after recent rains and time since a bushfire had been through parts of this area at some point. We saw lots of wildflowers, birds of prey and listened to the song of the cicadas in parts. We took the right hand path as suggested by a previous comment. Really enjoyable |

The area was desperately in need of rain but still had lots of interesting plants, birds and animals to watch out for. I really enjoyed this area. |

I started at the caravan park and started from the Devils Chair hike uphill first which suited my 60 year old knees better. It meant a hard slog uphill to begin with but then from Fern Pool it was a pleasant hike out. If you take the time to sit quietly up on the rock ledge on the other side of Fern Pool you will be rewarded after a bit of patience with a large variety of small birds using the pool to drink from. Admittedly when I was there it was extremely dry elsewhere. Delightful hike through a variety of eco systems. |
