I completed this track with a bunch of pals. Love a varied walk with a great view from the top. It is quite a steep peak which will provide a very unique lunching experience as you dangle your legs over the cliff face. I went with a group of friends on this trail. It’s very enjoyable to do, not difficult at all but I would say medium grade is appropriate as it is a fairly lengthy track. You go through so many different ecosystems - swamp, bush, lush rainforest, grassland, etc can all be found here. We started at the orchard opposite the graves and ended up at Governor’s Chair Lookout which was spectacular. I recommend this trail for a nice easy day out.

Passed by as part of the Mathieson trail loop. Interesting to picture yourself at the location 150 years ago, and taking a sip. The water did seem clear enough to drink when i passed by.

It was described as the ''Incomparable Panorama on a sign post, my colleagues and i laughed as we recalled the 360 degree birds eye view from the Mount Barney summit, surely we did have a worthy adversary to compare with. Steadily trudging along, after a lengthy Mathieson Trail adventure, we stopped and our breath was stolen from our lungs. A draping landscape of blue and green, windswept trees and tall grasses stared back at us as we behld their magnificence. What a sight! Brisbane can be seen in a far off distance to the north east and all the wonderful mountains of the scenic rim along with it to the east and south. |

Mt Greville: Waterfall Gorge/Palm Gorge circuit (Moogerah Peaks National Park) |

This walk was great! Lots to see. We started by going up Palm Gorge which was easy to follow despite no clear track; we just had to follow the palm trees in the direction of the summit. You will also find some very interesting dates carved into some of the palm trees dating back to the 1930’s and up to the 1970’s. I assume they were real because they had been well worn into the tree. Once out of the gorge you will find a plateau and a small track that goes further up. Don’t be discouraged by how far away the summit looks at this point, it really is only a half hour hike to the top. Try not to lose the path, veer right if uncertain on the dirt track to the top. I love a mountain with no false peaks, Mt Greville is one of these rare mountains in the region. You’ll know you’ve reached the summit when you see a giant cairn. Excellent photo stop to the west of it. Wonderful fauna everywhere, don’t forget to check out the waterfall it’s stunning. The path down via the waterfall summit track is well marked by arrows and markers. Keep your eyes peeled for them as at time they may be difficult to spot. |

Finally completed the cream track. Gotta say if you’re thinking of taking on this track on a wet day - don’t. I know you’re all tough as nails but avoid yourself the pain of having to pick off dozens and dozens of leeches every 5 minutes. Yes the walk was lush and on a rainy day very misty and fairytale-esque but it’s just not worth the leeches. I would definitely attempt this on a DRY wintery day. Lots of flora and interesting changes in scenery with rainforest, Ferny fields and waterfalls.

Mount Maroon is one of my all time favourites to climb! Relatively steep ascent with plenty of very inetresting rock formations along the way. You will come to a point where the track seems to lead you to a sharp descent, don't worry this is where you are meant to go! From the bottom of the descent, the scrambling begins. The views and scenery at the top are just breath taking, there's a wonderful stream on the saddle with huge trees on its edges. Spectacular views of Mount Barney and Mt Lindesay from the summit. Highly Recommend!

One of the first Aussie mountains I ever climbed. Inexperienced at the time, I still managed to climb it with my relatively experienced boyfriend. It’s my favourite to climb. It is mostly climbing rock faces which is what I enjoy rather than hiking. Sunburn risk is real here when climbing in summer. The views are stunning.

Lots of cacti. Extremely steep and dusty during the dryer months. Interesting sight at the top with the static station and heli pad, loved the yellow flowers. On your way down from the top you will encounter a part where the path seems to split and it’ll seem as through the descending path is the correct way to go. It’s not. Unless you wish to go bouldering in the caves (which I encountered by accident). You’ll know you’re heading this way if you see a purple flowering tree above a steeply inclined relatively flat rock. To get to plum car park please continue walking along the ridge - don’t descend. Took me 5 hours all up.

Suuuuuper challenging. This walk will take you the whole day to complete (dawn to dusk) and your feet will ache like never before. I spent the whole day after in bed. That’s if you’ve never climbed it before and you don’t climb mountains all too often.

Lovely climb. Lots of uphill walking. Don’t be fooled, there is a section where the arrows stop pointing up and direct you downhill - this is the way to the climbing section so rest assured you are still on the right track. The climb is great! Not too challenging but satisfying enough for those who want a thrill. The top is breathtaking! The stream at the top is the most serene sight and you’ll see gigantic trees! Definitely recommend.

Lovely walk. If you are walking in the dark, keep a lookout for glowing blue mushrooms. They are tiny but they are just stunning. The swimming hole at the top is amazing, don't be afraid to jump off the top of the waterfall (into the swimming hole ofc).
