Mt Barney - East Peak - Up South-East - Down South (Mt Barney National Park)
31 Dec, 2018
Very Hard
15km return
10 hrs
Great summit track, new markers to help with getting up without getting lost or put off-track. 7 hours 18 minutes, we powered up and took or time getting down with 25 minutes at the top for lunch.

The creeks at the top were running rather low on this day, I never rely on water being at the top, however there has always been flowing water whenever I am up there.
Mt Barney - East Peak - Up South-East - Down South (Mt Barney National Park)
12 Nov, 2017
Very Hard
15km return
10 hrs
Time:
Started at 0630. We took our time getting up at 5 Hours. Spent 1 hour in the saddle for lunch and exploring, then took 5 hours descending the long way. Great hike.

Water:
Although there is flowing water in the saddle, I highly recommend taking enough water to last the whole journey.. then you can empty/fill with fresh cold water if there is any available.

Snake:
We saw a healthy big brown snake (around 1.5metres) at the very top.
Flinders Peak (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
11 Oct, 2015
Hard
6.5km return
3.5 hrs
Lost;
I got lost on the way down, but only for 15-20 minutes, I travelled north north west on the last big downward slope and met back up with the track. (I followed the obvious path of other lost hikers).

Time;
I powered up the mountain, took me 1h 20m to get up and 1h 40m to get back down. There were 4 other groups at various points on the track, so pretty busy.

Water;
There is no drinking water at the picnic area as well as the summit, definitely take extra with you.
Goolman Lookout via Rocky Knoll (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
26 Sep, 2015
Medium
7.4km
2 hrs
The track was nice and steep, it is a well formed multi-use trail. The bush scenery is nice.

I agree with the creator of the this walk, take the summit first using the Goolman lookout walk, then return via rocky knoll (on the return, instead of turning left to backtrack to the picnic area, continue straight and the track takes a large horseshoe going left passing the 'rocky knoll'... there is little signage for this)

The 'Goolman lookout' however is not much of a lookout. Tall trees encircle most of the summit. There is an opening to the west.

Because of the trees at at the summit, there is plenty of shade for a nice breezy break to take you back down.
Mt. Coot-tha Summit Track (Mt. Coot-tha)
27 Apr, 2015
Medium
5.3km return
75 mins
lots of people use these tracks for serious exercise, you will see people running and jogging etc. great scenery and the paths are well maintained. This is not a real 'bush'walk, it's more like a large city park walk with majority paved paths and built steps.
White Rock Ridge Hike (White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate)
27 Sep, 2014
Hard
6.5km
2 hrs
The ridge walk is much more interesting with great views and a nice breeze, the walk that runs along the base of the ridge is flat, sandy and often dug out by bike riders.

White Rock itself is pretty cool, you can climb it or walk around the base to find the easier route up. (If you walk around the base of the rock, apparently there is a pair of nesting falcons that will swoop if you get too close, I did not see them as I climbed the rock)

I saw at least 6 people at various points along the walk, so it is a popular place to visit.
Scrub Road bush camp walk (D'Aguilar National Park)
21 Sep, 2014
Medium
8km
2.5 hrs
The walk from Mt Nebo Road to Scrub road bush camp took about 1h 5m. We stayed at the camp site for about 20 minutes and then headed back. The walk from Enoggera Creek back up to Mt Nebo Road was all up hill with no flats.

The entire return trip took about 2h 30m.
