I can highly recommend this walk for those who are sure of foot and have reasonable fitness. Our group of 11 included an 8 year old and a 75 year old who both managed OK. The track to both Westray's Grave and the Stinson site were well marked with pink ribbons but be prepared for a steep continuous climb from 4km to 6.5km. We completed the 14km return from the carpark (including the short detour to Westrays Grave) in 6 and a half hours which included around 90 mins of rest stops. The Stinson site itself is a bit underwhelming with some scrap metal strewn in the bushes but if you research the full story of the Stinson before you go the pilgrimage is well worth the trek. |
