Nigretta Falls is a small waterfall set in outstanding scenery. The waterfall is considered more spectacular than Wannon Falls, due to its clearer features.

Getting there:

Head out of Hamilton north west on the Glenelg Highway (B160) and after about 5km turn right into Nigretta Road (signposted) and after a further 5km turn left into Wannon Nigretta Road before turning right down to the fall’s car park.

Route/Trail notes:

From the car park you have a lookout over the falls. Then walk along a pathway and down across the boulders to the top of the falls and rock hop up stream to the pools.

Return by the same route.

Just beyond the car park there are stairs down to the base of the falls, but (2024) these were closed off due to flood damage.

Nearby are the Wannon Falls that are also worth a visit.

Second falls of the day and this one was more of an adventure as you could walk out to the top of the falls and rock hop up the river bed to the pools for a swim.
