This shady walk follows a clear, trickling creek through urban bushland. A wide, wooden bridge crosses the creek near the trailhead. There is usually water in the creek, and the thick canopy trees/lush fern trees walk make this a beautiful walk in any weather.
Officially listed as Grade 2/Easy difficulty (unsealed dirt trail, some very short hills along the western bank), this walk is suitable for all ages and most fitness levels.
This park is located in Highfields, north of Toowoomba. Park at the end of Cecil Crescent. The trailhead is behind the playground.
Which maps cover the area?
From the trailhead behind the playground, descend the stairs and cross the wooden bridge. Turn right to follow the dirt path along the wetsern bank of the creek. When you reach Reis Rd, cross the creek again via the pedestrian bridge, then double back to the carpark via the eastern creek bank, which runs along the back fenceline of several resedentials properties. This side of the creek has no compacted trail, but the grass is mown regularly and the path is easy to follow.
