This was an interesting walk with frequent terrain changes to keep the kids interested. We took a LONG time on the way out (2.5hrs) stopping to look at every rock, tree and bug, but picked up the pace on the way back and only took 1hr back to the car. Creek crossings were safe/passable without getting our feet wet, but there were a few slippery rocks after it rained lightly. Would definitely do this again. Best spot along the track is the little waterfall/waterhole, but there's a nice rainforest section near the end for variety (no big climax at the end though).

Brilliant walk - this was my 5th time and I'm still itching to do it again. Perfect weather today & cool enough at the moment for a lunchtime walk. Easy to handle for kids with lots of changes in vegetation/views to keep things interesting. I overheard my 8 year old telling my 6 year old it was just like the changes in landscape in Minecraft.

Stunning gorge. The waterfall wasn't at full force and the creek was stagnant in places but still beautiful. Lots of turtles in the pool below the waterfall and some really special native plants. The steps were easier on the knees than expected (good distance apart). Very steep, short dirt section at the bottom of Track 3 to get down and explore the creek - fun for the kids & they did it in sandals but I'd recommend wearing closed in shoes.

Beautiful, shaded walk lower down on Boat Mountain's escarpment. Lots of birds in the canopy & understory plants. Plenty of spikey native plants but none crossing the path. The path was unclear at times due to a thick layer of leaf litter, but easy enough to pick up again after a few meters. Lots of dig holes from bandicoots/echidnas Loved this walk.

Interesting, mostly shaded walk up Boat Mountain and along the ridge at the top to a lookout with stunning views to the north. Wide variety of native plants with limited weeds. Some trapdoor spider holes near the lookout, but they were very shy and didn't cause any problems.

Completed this walk today with my kids (age 6&7). Very achievable, but the middle 1/3 was difficult for little legs. I personally didn't find this was overly taxing for the leg muscles, but the elevation gain had me stopping for regular breathing breaks. The top 1/3 was a gentler incline but some sections of the trail were crowded with lantana. The view from the top is good but it was a bit disappointing that there were no views of the dam. (Other walkers bush bashed around the summit rim to get a glimpse of the water but advised us not to do this with kids). Glad we ticked it off the list but probably wouldn't revisit this walk. Saw 1 goanna and a couple of skinks.

A good short walk/run for a quick muscle burn (even better if you do the circuit twice). Not much interest in the way of plant life, but the quality & variety of park facilities make this a place worth visiting.

A short walk with amazing variety to keep young children interested the whole way. The size of the ancient trees is astonishing, and the boardwalk section was very fun. 100% worth the drive. We did get lost at a fork in the dirt road - should have taken the left fork.

Easy, enjoyable walk with kids. Excellent view from the lookout. Would like to do it again at sunset. Sand wasps currently digging burrows right in front of the picnic seat - not aggressive but will sting if their nest is disturbed.

Lots of interest on this short walk, with a mix of dry rainforest + cliff-faces and long views. Kids enjoyed it. Lots of bird-life today, and a wide variety of ferns and flowering plants as well (orchids, wild raspberries etc.)

Visited White Rock today for the first time. We parked in the wrong spot (should have used the carpark straight ahead, not to the left), and found the signage confusing (there are several trails in the park with similar acronyms). Glad we had GPS map to confirm we were on the right track. The trail was a good level of challenge to keep my kids interested, and we saw/heard lots of wildlife (kingfisher, Goanna, skinks, frogs, etc.) Lots more to explore on a future visit.

Love this walk. So much variety of vegetation types, with lots of birds and interesting rock features. Met a green tree snake on the path today but no goannas this time. Creek has enough water to dip your feet in at the moment - explore upstream for a deeper section up to your knees (make sure you check for ticks though).

Easy walk with young kids. We completed the Greenes Falls walk + Cypress Grove & Rainforest loops on the way back. Took us just over 2.5 hours, including time to explore the top of the falls (enough water to make it worth the trip). The uphill return to the carpark is mostly gentle with just a few flights of stairs to get the heartrate up. Trail well maintained and only 1 short muddy section. Lots of birdlife, several pademelons and cool spiders/bugs to see. No snakes today.

Track a little overgrown with lantana at the moment along the farm fence - had to cut back a few branches at face height to avoid getting scratched. Picked up some ticks in the grass near the bridge site. Returned via the road and saw a brown snake disappearing into the grass on the verge. Much nicer in winter.

Visited just after heavy rain to see the creek & falls in full flow. Some damage to the path at the top of the falls (has been repaired since). Nice to see the new tree plantings along the steep bank near the creek crossing on Yellow Robin Walk. Some tree branches have been removed from the base of the falls, giving a better view of the waterfall from the end of Bowerbird Walk. |
