Comments

I did not think this was easy, but the falls are well worth the effort. So yes there is a steep climb at the start up to mount Allan tower. From there take the booloumba creek path. I did get confused here without a map. About 700m down the track there is a fork signed for Summer falls. Relatively easy track to the falls. Nice walk. Spend some time here if you can. Sit is the falls and have a bite to eat. Just beautiful. The trek back to the base of Mount Allan is easy then there's a 1.2km pretty steep climb back upto the tower. From the tower to Charlie Moreland is then 4.5km steep, in places, down hill. Tough on ya knees without pole. Loved the walk because of the falls. Left 8.30am returned pretty tired at 2.30pm

Not easy

Great hike. The climb to Mt Allan is long and strenuous and very steep in places at the end but a very easy trail, the plantation pine forest is beautiful and I was caught in clouds of monarch butterflies in late May. The fire tower was closed due to structural instability but it's still a rewarding part of the hike. The bush track to Summer falls is lovely and serene and the falls themselves are impressive and fun to climb. I left at 8am and meandered the whole way, getting back at nightfall

Nice Sunday stroll over Mt Allan to Summer Falls and back. Set off at 6am and did not see/hear a human for 4 hours , bliss !
