The right branch is a longer 3.5km route to the falls.

This walk can be done as a circuit walk, returning by the alternative route.

Trees are often down and blocking the track, watch out for stinging trees, cassowaries and red bellied blacks!

Lots of great swimming options here.

Camping available at Henrietta Creek (fees apply).

There are numerous other waterfalls to visit along the Palmerston Highway including the Mamu Tropical Skywalk, Tchupala Falls and Millaa Millaa Falls.

This was a beautiful walk through the rainforest. I took the "alternate" route first (ie go right at the fork for the longer walk) and returned via the shorter route, making this a loop. I wasn't tracking the time exactly, but it took me about 1hr 45mins all up (actual walking time). The track is quite easy; undulating but not steep at all. I'd say the medium rating here is accurate for the alternate route.

This area is so incredible, absolutely packed with diverse flora and fauna. And plenty of waterfalls. This waterfall is indeed something special.

Great walk through some dense rainforest and plenty of water running through the waterfalls and the crossings!

Well signposted walk on the main track. The return leg offers an option of an alternative route of 4 kms. The alternate route was more difficult than the main track however there were numerous waterfalls on the route that one could see but not get to. The river had several access points in the early sections of the alternate route. Large sections of the alternate route are uphill so it is advisable to carry plenty of water if you plan to walk this route

We enjoyed this walk very much. The Nandroya Falls were very impressive, it's a 60 meter drop waterfall up the top and down the bottom there's a very wide waterfall. A lush, bright green rainforest track with a bit of rock hopping to cross a couple of small waters. So worth it! Being there at the end of the wet season makes it more spectacular, but can get a bit slippery at certain spots.

Great walk in the rain! Just watch for trees and debris along the trail.

The whole Palmerston/Doongan area of Wooronooran is probably my most favourite place in the world... Camping here is amazing - quiet and out of the way even though it is on a highway. The wildlife in this area is astounding! We stayed for 2 nights and both nights were enchanted by the light show of thousands of fireflies dancing through the whole night. The twilight call of the green grocer cicadas is amazing, but deafening!
We did most of the trails here - and along our way were met with ulysses butterflies, day moths, the rare french's longicorn, red bellied black snakes, insects so numerous and beautiful - and had a scary, but very special, run in with a young, shaggy cassowary and its parents who made a thundering ruckus wanting nothing more than to get out of our way. So be very wary of cassowaries!!

The surrounding towns are charming and the people friendly and fun - its well worth a visit!!

Another photo found in my album taken in 2001 shows that I did this walk, but can’t remember the details, as I completed three ‘falls’ walks that day.

Many times a week over summer, one of the best swimming holes in Australia at the end of it, stunning!

My favorite swimming hole of all time is at the end of this walk. Did it hundreds of times as a kid
