A great challenge. Absolutely stunning. This is now one of my favourite hikes ever. Exactly 3 hours to the summit, then 2 hrs 20min back down to the first swimming hole you'll really look forward to returning to. Then a 40 minute dawdle back to the car. 6 hours total. Moderate fitness level definitely required and agility for rock hopping. Super fun hike!! |

This was a beautiful walk through the rainforest. I took the "alternate" route first (ie go right at the fork for the longer walk) and returned via the shorter route, making this a loop. I wasn't tracking the time exactly, but it took me about 1hr 45mins all up (actual walking time). The track is quite easy; undulating but not steep at all. I'd say the medium rating here is accurate for the alternate route. This area is so incredible, absolutely packed with diverse flora and fauna. And plenty of waterfalls. This waterfall is indeed something special. |

Wonderful walk to the top of the epic Windin Falls. Approximately 90mins each way from the car park. 11kms return. Access is via Gourka Road, which is off Topaz Road, out from Malanda. You will see signs to both Windin Falls and Battle-Frere Western Approach. Head to the left, following Windin Falls signage. The track is pretty easy, a couple of inclines but not too steep. One steep section, not very long, when you are approaching the creek/falls. Rainforest landscape. Be aware of leeches. This was a bloody fantastic walk with a stunning valley view. Highly recommend. |

A very enjoyable walk in between snorkelling! This only took 40 minutes up, 30 mins down - and I did not go fast. So I would not rate this a "hard" walk. More moderate. Beautiful scenery and views over the top of forest top on your way up/down. The view from the top is excellent too. Lots of cool lizards to see. Have fun! |

A wonderful hike! Very much enjoyed. Sunday morning commenced hike 6:02am. Took 1 hour 50 mins to reach the summit. 1 hour 40 mins for the return (including extra 20 mins of me getting myself lost by not paying attention, going off on a random 'path', climb down almost vertical cliff, before realising "I don't remember this on the way up" then climbing back up to find the path. Watch where you're going and follow the kindly placed red markers). Returned to the car 9:45am. Was a beautiful morning, only saw a handful of people the whole way. Highly recommend undertaking this pyramid hike. The view from the top is of neighbouring mountains and valleys. Quite incredible. Definitely a moderate level of fitness and agility required. Bit of a slog! |

Stunning. Such a great walk down to the bottom of the falls. The hike back up was fantastic. The wildlife and flora is so beautiful. Got there on Sunday morning at 7am - no one else there. Got back up at about 9 and a few people were making their way down. Brought swimmers but wasn't really keen on risking the slippery rocks to get to the water! 2 hours included 45 minutes spent down watching the water fall. So not a very long walk at all. Lovely morning. Highly recommend this walk! |

Absolutely stunning walk, through rainforest, along the creek. At the top of the walk, you reach a most wonderful waterfall and huge swimming hole. Not sure how long it took - maybe halfa? This is more of a leisurely walk to get to the water. Totally recommend.

So much fun solo hiking this beauty. As always, if you're going on a weekend, be sure to go early to avoid the peeps. (I actually started a bit later this time, at 7am, and still only passed about 3 people, but when I got back to the bottom they were piling in). The first ascent to peak is very steep. Not too much of a view at the first peak. Keep going, it's bloody worth it. You'll start declining as if you're heading down the other side of the mountain. You'll pass through gorgeous rainforest-ish area before beginning the second ascent, which is barely an incline. You will pop out the other side of the scrub and voila, possibly the best view on the coast. Yewww beautayyy. I spent 2.5 hours including hiking, exploring around and looking up in awe of the beautiful, huge, old trees. Not a Sunday stroll in the park - it's quite strenuous so if that's what you're into, this is the hike for you. Big love. |

Have climbed this mountain several times and intend to return several times. I travel almost an hour from Coolum just to climb this mountain. Extremely fun climbing up and sliding down! I've seen lots of people freeze from fear on the side of the cliff, so if you're scared of heights, I would not recommend (try Ngungun). Go early on the w/e, or go during the week to avoid too many people as there are small sections of climbing only, and you will get lots of slow people that you will just have to wait for to get past. I have waited quite a while at times (nothing against these people AT ALL and I'm sooo glad they're out here doing it! I just get really excited and just want to climb!) And it gets quite dangerous with falling rocks and people above and below you. Anyways it's a bloody fun time and one of my favourites! Big love.

A beautiful walk!! It was not strenuous at all. Took just under 3 hours, including stopping for photography several times! Magnificent eucalyptus at the higher parts of the walk, and more rainforesty trees at the lower parts. White and black cockatoos. The falls were not gushing but were still stunning, reminded me of Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite. Definitely recommend this walk if you're in the Northern Rivers area :) |
