Getting There:

From Coles Bay, take Freycinet Drive south around Honeymoon Bay and into the NP. The carpark is about 3km in with toilets and walker registration facilities.

Route/Trail Notes:

The walk starts from the southern end of the car park along a well maintained path to the lookout (there are separate tracks for each direction, which ultimately converge just after the Coles Bay Lookout).

After the lookout (which is as far as most visitors go) the track continues down to the beach, on a slighltly-rougher but still very good track. From the point you hit the beach, you can extent you walk to the end of Wineglass Bay; a 3.2km return trip.

Return the way you came, or alternatively take the easier Isthmus Track west to Hazard's Beach and the coastal track back to the car park (7.4km)

Beautiful beach. A whole lot of stairs to get there and back. Managed to run the track in around 1hr return (sun was about to set) - do not recommend this, allow plenty of time to get through all the stairs with plenty of time for rest stops along the way.

It was quit overcast the day we were at Wineglass Bay but we still did the walk and continued on to the beach walk. Because the weather was so moody we had the beach to ourselves and enjoyed the crashing waves. We didn’t find the track difficult, although I took some of the uphill steps at my own pace. We are in our 50’s and fit.

After doing Mt Amos and having a bit of food, we did this walk descending the beach and reaching Wineglass bay. It was an interesting walk, expect a lot of steps! The beach was great. The weather wasn't that great tho! Very windy and cold. Dion and myself swam it was lovely.

It was nice track, lots of steps. I was having bad luck that it was raining, couldn’t get good view of beach but walk was nice, only completed walk till The Lookout Point.(1.5 hours)

WOW. The photos will never do this walk justice. The path is well defined and quite regularly walked so no problem there. There are a few step areas coming back from the beach. There were toddlers walking with parents (slowly!) and all ages and fitness levels. Pack sturdy shoes as there are a few loose stones on the cut out steps coming down, slight hazard. Also, enough water to do the walk. There is a drinking water tap at the carpark near the toilet facilities.

Great walk with a few lookouts and a lovely walk down to the beach. The walk back is a lot of stair climbing, but well worth the effort!

Loved this walk despite the lookout being bathed in fog.. We walked through to Hazard's beach and had the whole thing to ourselves. I preferred hazard's to wineglass bay.. A lovely few hours spent in a beautiful place

This is a 'bucket list' item. When in Tasmania, walk the sands of Wineglass Bay and swim in the pristine waters. What I had not realised, was that other than by boat, you can only walk in!

But that 5km trek was worth the effort. Half way there on the crest of the hill is the 'kodak' moment with awesome views of the bay and peninsula laid out below you.

One of the best walks in Tassie, stunning views and a good workout. A dip in the water was great and the wallaby's on the beach just topped it off!

Did the 4day walk from the car park heading in a anti clockwise direction.
It is an amazing walk. Not too hard on the legs until you hit the mountain.
The Southern ocean washes up some interesting stuff on the beaches.
Can't wait to do the walk again.
