Wonderful lookouts over the gorge on this track. Watch out for the stinging trees along the way though. There are also plenty of great places for a swim.

I can't believe we did this walk in the middle of Summer. Probably not advisable. It was really hot, and every time we thought we were nearing the summit it just kept going further up. I also can't believe that people run up it in a race. Never the less, it is conquered!

Great view. Nice BBQ area and facilities. Ordinary walk.

I'm adding this entry well after the actual trip up the rock so I could be getting it incorrect, but to my knowledge we did get to the top of the rock and assailed down. We definitely did absail down something. We were with friends who had done this before, and knew where they were going though.
Mt Cooroora (Sunshine Coast)
25 Apr, 2008
Hard
2.6km return
2.5 hrs
Such a steep climb, but the track is well defined, with lots of cut stairs. In some places chains are there to give some added help. Very rewarding.
Greenes Falls via Rainforest Circuit + Cypress Grove Circuit (D'Aguilar National Park)
26 Jan, 2008
Medium

Always a good walk. On this occasion we saw a cat bird and a Satin Bowerbird nest.
Kosciuszko Summit (Kosciuszko National Park)
Jan, 2008
Medium
13km

This is a great walk to tick off, though you really don't feel like you're on Australia's highest mountain. Most of the work is done by the chair lift, then it's a fairly level walk to the summit. There were heaps and heaps of flies.
Mount Coolum (Sunshine Coast)
24 Nov, 2007

This is a rewarding walk with great views over the Sunshine Coast
Mapleton Falls & Wompoo Circuit (Mapleton National Park)

Nice easy walk. Great view over the valley. You can't really see the falls though.

We took this short side track on our way down to Greens Falls.
Greenes Falls via Rainforest Circuit + Cypress Grove Circuit (D'Aguilar National Park)
14 Jan, 2007

Nice walk. Such a pity the track doesn't go down to the bottom of the falls anymore, so you can't see too much, but never the less a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
Cathedral Rock (Cathedral Rock National Park)

Great walk and great photos at the top.

West Canungra Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park)

This walk was a bit hard to follow in some places. It would have been easy to get lost. We saw the eel in the blue pool, and nearly stood on what looked like a brown snake lying on the path. We really enjoyed the walk though. All of the creek crossings were great.
Simpsons Falls and Eugenia Circuit (Mt. Coot-tha)
20 Oct, 2006

Nice easy walk. Views of the city from the top of the falls. The falls really aren't much to see though.
