Rosewood Loop (Border Ranges National Park)
11 Jan, 2017
Medium
6km return
3 hrs
We accessed this track by walking from the Forest Tops National Park, making it quite a long walk. The track didn't look very frequently used. We saw a goanna along the way that definitely wasn't used to people. I don't know who got the biggest fright.
Brushbox Falls Lookout (Border Ranges National Park)
11 Jan, 2017
Easy
2km return
40 mins
We walked to the Brushbox Falls from Forest Tops, and included the Rosewood Loop, making this a 19.5km walk. It took us seven hours. The waterfall was really beautiful.
Port Macquarie Coastal Walk (New South Wales)
9 Jan, 2017
Easy
9km one-way
3 hrs
This walk made for a great day. We did a return Walk which made over 20km once you include side tracks. We didn't rush, but it took us only about 5 hours. There were a couple of things we didn't realise before we started. The first is that some of the track is along the beaches. The path takes you as far as Flynn's beach, and from there you walk across the beaches with stairs and paths over the headlands. We didn't realise this straight away and found ourselves looking on the road looking for paths. We figured it out by Shelly Beach and from there and on the way back had no trouble sticking to the route. The other thing we didn't realise is that Miner's Beach is the local unofficial nudist Beach. It was being well used by a lot of men when we walked through, which may be worth being aware of if you're planning a walk with the family.
Koolabung Creek Walk Circuit 1 (New South Wales)
9 Jan, 2017
Easy

A nice easy walk to end the day. The cemetery is interesting to walk through as well.
Potoroo Falls Walk (New South Wales)
8 Jan, 2017
Easy
1.4km return
45 mins
This was a great waterfall to visit. The path to it is a bit rough and we did have to take our shoes off, but it was well worth it. Take care on the road down. It's not very wide, and we were warned by a local that sometimes cars come around the corners a a bit quick.
Cattai Wetlands Loop (New South Wales)
8 Jan, 2017
Easy
2.2km return
1 hr
We loved this Wetland. We didn't see too many birds, but the water lilies on the lake were just superb.
Cattai Wetlands Lookout Loop (New South Wales)
8 Jan, 2017
Medium
1.1km return
20 mins
There is a nice view from the lookout, and the information board gives explanation on the significance of this wetland.
Cattai Wetlands Forest Loop (New South Wales)
8 Jan, 2017
Medium
840m return
15 mins
We saw quite a lot of Yellow Spinebills on this walk.
Graham Allen Walk/Flying Fox Circuit (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Very Easy
900m return
20 mins
Unfortunately the flying fox part of the track was closed due to the breeding season. Never the less we still did see flying foxes in the trees above us as well as a land mullet, scrub turkeys and some other birds.
Ellenborough Falls - The Knoll (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Easy
700m one-way
10 mins
It was quite wet as we've had rain, and the path was a little slippery and quite muddy right at the end. The lookout gives a great view.
Ellenborough Falls - Base of Falls (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Hard
1km return
40 mins
It had been raining when we arrived, but it was still quite busy. Some were going down for a swim. There is a kiosk at the top which is always nice after a walk.
Rowley's Rock Lookout (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Hard
1km return
40 mins
It had been raining when we arrived, and we were grateful for our 4WD. We weren't sure about taking the track up at first and drove on looking for a place to park the car. We missed it and drove on too far meaning that we needed to reverse to get back. After that we chose to drive up, and we're glad that we could. It's quite a drive up the hill just to the car park. The track up is steep. It the view at the top is so worth it. We watched the clouds come in while we were there, and before we knew it the view was totally gone and we were surrounded by the clouds.
Red Cedar Walk (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Hard
1.3km return
30 mins
This isn't the most picturesque walk we've done, but the signs on the trees are interesting. A lot of the trees seem so similar, and yet they are different. It was a bit muddy, and easy to slip in the first part.
Mountain Brush Walk (New South Wales)
7 Jan, 2017
Medium
500m return
10 mins
We encountered quite a few leeches on this walk.
Thunderbolt's Lookout (Barrington Tops National Park)
6 Jan, 2017
Easy
400m one-way
20 mins
This is another great lookout. It's longer than the NPWS signs and brochures say though. Definitely 400m one way.
Honeysuckle Forest Track (Barrington Tops National Park)
6 Jan, 2017
Medium

This is a really nice walk. There are so many ferns. We also saw a couple of lyrebirds while walking.
Hidden Treasure Track (New South Wales)
6 Jan, 2017
Easy
3.5km return
2 hrs
We enjoyed both rereading about the history along this track, as well as the rainforest. We have never seen so many birds nest ferns in trees. In some places it seemed like just about every tree had one in it.
Basin Loop Track (New South Wales)
6 Jan, 2017
Hard
7km return
We walked this track in the opposite direction. I'm not sure if it was better or worse that way. It was quite hot, and the track up Copeland Road was over 3km long and continually up hill. It wasn't as steep as the walk back though which possibly also had more shade.
Polblue Falls (Barrington Tops National Park)
5 Jan, 2017
Easy
400m return
20 mins
This is quite a nice water fall, though small. If you're in this area, make sure that you stop in at The Firs picnic area. That really is something else, though there's nor really a walk there. Just a walk around.
Polblue Swamp Track (Barrington Tops National Park)
5 Jan, 2017
Easy
3km return
1 hr
We really enjoyed the different vegetation in this area. There are many trees with moss and lychen and a lot of wild flowers.
