A simple walk to the water along elevated paths. The river is the most beautiful shade of green! There were many people there the day we went but it's with it. |

This circuit was our first time walking at Mt Cootha. We parked at the first small carpark we came to, not realising there was a bit of a walk to the start of the track. You can keep driving down the road to the Simpson Falls picnic area. The track itself was varied with a few ups and downs to keep things interesting. There were many people of all ages out on the track. It would be a hot one to do in summer, we were lucky it was overcast and did actually rain when we were about 1/2 way around the circuit. |

Not many people were walking the circuit the day we were there, so we got to enjoy the rainforest to ourselves. It was an easy walk, with our 5 mth old daughter in the carrier. We stopped off at the swimming area on the way back, lots of people there having a dip. Water was icy and refreshing! A note about the bus as we were a little confused initially... You pay about $25AUD for two adults and it takes you to the start of the tracks. You can walk to the start of the tracks along the road from the info centre, I think we were told it's 7km (?). |

We have done this walk many times with our baby daughter in the carrier. It's a lovely place to escape the heat of Brisbane (always a few degrees cooler up there!) during summer. | ||||

I've done this walk a couple of times – once when it had been raining and once on a fine day. It was spectacular on both occasions but I have to say there was something magical about walking up through the mist and clouds! I wasn't the fittest when I did this walk – stairs are a killer, the short climb at the top is fun! It's very popular so it can be difficult to get a carpark if going there for the sunrise. I have to add how disappointing it is to see people leaving their rubbish behind, both on the side of the trail and at the summit... |
