Great hike. The climb to Mt Allan is long and strenuous and very steep in places at the end but a very easy trail, the plantation pine forest is beautiful and I was caught in clouds of monarch butterflies in late May. The fire tower was closed due to structural instability but it's still a rewarding part of the hike. The bush track to Summer falls is lovely and serene and the falls themselves are impressive and fun to climb. I left at 8am and meandered the whole way, getting back at nightfall

Lovely hike up through the pine plantation, I was caught in a cloud of monarch butterflies at one point. The gradient is very steep for long legs, but the trail itself is very easy. The fire tower's 'currently closed' for repairs, but the hike can still be rewarding.

Average quality bushwalk circuit, more interesting to walk anti-clockwise but also easier to get lost. The lake is great for water activities in summer and there's lovely romantic lakeside picnicing spots

Great countryside hike from the NSW/QLD border at Numinbah to the caves, and a challenging climb from there to the summit of Wagawn. I found the best track was to follow the farmers road (grassy tyre indents) up the hill from the carpark and left from there. Rather than jumping the barbed wire fence early jump it as late as you can to avoid the overgrown start of the trail, it gets much more beaten track after the start. |

Good walking access to the North of Mt Cootha forest via the Simpsons falls track, other trails such as Eugenia branch off at the falls in several directions. The falls were just trickling into swimming holes when we went but wasn't especially impressive, it'd been raining a fair bit the last week. Good amenities at the carpark

Lovely dense forest trail to the falls, a wonderful rain hike if you can deal with endless leeches when it's wet.

I slept in my station wagon on a roadtrip south from Brisbane to Kosciusko, in the morning I walked to the summit to watch the chimney vents burn. It's a big effort but very well maintained and worth it, the views of the surrounding landscape are stunning and the phenomenon itself is breathtaking
