A well signed Track with yellow markers. Saw some birdlife but less than expected. The walk along the riverbed was hard on the feet but was lovely walking through the gorge. Beautiful waterholes. There is a toilet and information shed just near the car park.

A great little walk to stretch the legs and see the whole of Bicheno. A well signed short gravel path up to the lookouts with terrific views.

This loop track is terrific! Russell Falls is amazing & had a lot of water flowing over. About 200 stairs later, you get to Horseshoe Falls then a couple of kms later, Lady Barron Falls. The remainder of the walk has the biggest staircase I’ve ever seen - about 240 stairs and then an amazing walk through open forest where we saw some terrific birdlife. The visitor centre has a cafe, information centre, toilets and a gift shop.

Loved this walk! A huge variety of birds and plants especially wildflowers! Saw a large black tiger snake on the path who quickly slithered away when I got closer. The walk is moderate but wear good quality hiking shoes as there’s a lot of rocks and tree roots to walk over. The muddy tracks were everywhere but it was good to see hikers still treading along the mud and not making new tracks to avoid dirtying their boots. The view at South Cape Bay is impressive and was wonderful to sit and have a quick bite to eat. It took us 5 hours with quite a few stops for photos along the way. Plenty of spaces to park at the start and there is a toilet and information sign just behind the Ranger’s Station. Camping is also permitted. |

Made it to the Mt Wellington summit - started at Fern Tree and walked along the Fern Glade Track, Radford’s Track, Pinnacle Track then Zig-Zag Track to the summit and return. A total of 12.5km. There are so many walking Track options in Wellington Park. This return trip we did was challenging and our GPS devices tell us we climbed 188 flights of stairs. Amazing views from the top but the flora and fauna on the way up was even better! The fern trees at the start were incredible!

Did this walk today in 3.5 hours. This is one of my favourite tracks for the beautiful trees, birdlife, wallabies, lizards and of course the waterfalls - of which there is still a trickle flowing over each one. Again, it’s about 14k not 17. It’s fairly easy going for the first half (if walking anti-clockwise) and the second half has some switchbacks which will get your heart rate up. If it didn’t take me an hour and a half to get there, I’d go every week!

Beautiful short track in the rainforest. I loved the boardwalk around the huge strangler fig. Some great educational signs for kids and grown ups! I did this as part of an 11.5km return walk from Jolly’s Lookout (Egernia Circuit, Thylogale Track & Pitta Circuit). Very quiet in the morning and loads of wildlife.

We parked in the car park off Chalcot Road, Anstead. Walked anti-clockwise along Nursery Break, Devils Break, Powerline Road then a clockwise loop of Powerline Road, Rocky Mountain & Lantana Break. Then along Ugly Gully Break and onto Centre Road which took us back to the car park. Lots of wildlife (birds, lace monitors), certainly challenging in some sections but we would do this one again for the peacefulness and nice wide tracks. Definitely not easy though...should be graded at a medium. Total distance was 11km.

We parked in the car park off Chalcot Road, Anstead. Walked anti-clockwise along Nursery Break, Devils Break, Powerline Road then a clockwise loop of Powerline Road, Rocky Mountain & Lantana Break (I would hate to tackle the hill on Lantana Break the opposite direction!). Then along Ugly Gully Break and onto Centre Road which took us back to the car park. Lots of wildlife (birds, lace monitors), certainly challenging in some sections but we would do this one again for the peacefulness and nice wide tracks. Definitely not easy though...should be graded at a medium! 11km total distance.

Completed this walk as part of a 14km trip in the area. Started with the Kabul Track, then a side trip to a lookout then returned to the car park via Kaboora Track. We took a water taxi to the island then had a taxi drive us to the car park to start the walks. We also arranged for the taxi to return after about 4hrs (limited phone reception) to collect us and drive us back to the ferry! Blue Lake is really lovely to see however Tortoise Lagoon was dry. Wear proper shoes as the snakes are on the move... in fact our taxi driver told us to keep an eye out for death adders as they’re also around...

Started on the Araucaria Track but then moved to the Link Track and did the whole circuit. Ended up being 10.9km...a long dry, warm walk but completed in 2hr 20min. I’m reasonably fit but found some of the hills to be killers...they’re just not nice! The signage is non-existent so you need to regularly refer to a map. I have absolutely no desire to do this one again...

A great, easy 3km return hike with a small amount of rock hopping. Quite picturesque and we were fortunate to see an echidna walking along near us before he/she started curling and burrowing for their life! Definitely worth doing when in the area.

A moderate walk - nothing strenuous. About 20 river crossings so make sure you’re wearing waterproof shoes. We camped at Big Bend for a night and were lucky enough for a storm to pass over with lightening lighting up the gorge. A wonderful spot for a hike and camp. We had our GPS tell us it was 21km return trip to the visitor centre (without side trips). Lots of fresh running water but we still filtered it and treated with micropur tablets.
