Cougal Cascades (Springbrook National Park) |

Very Easy |
1.6km return 1 hr |

A very easy walk on a bitumen track, walking alongside the creek and cascades to the old saw mill. Behind the sawmill, you can walk to the creek then rock hop along the creek back down to the cascades to make it more interesting.
Caves Track (Lamington National Park) |

A nice walk from behind the Information Centre, through the bush and caves (rock tunnel and rock overhang) to the Binna Burra lower carpark (and then back again the same way as you cannot currently walk along the road). The fires have had a real impact on the bush and allow more light in, so the weeds are growing quickly. It was an enjoyable walk but we preferred the nearby Gwongoorool track

This is such an easy and beautiful walk at any time of year. There is always wildlife to be seen. We didn't see whales on this occasion but there were many kangaroos, turtles and fish. This is a walk that we do over and over again.

An easy walk with a lot of ferns and roots on the track. The constructed viewing platform has been built on the edge of the cliff. A lovely view and well worth the short walk.

We did this in conjunction to Sylvesters Lookout and Mt Castle Lookout. We chose to do this one first and there were many people with the same idea. There was an easy creek crossing (2WDs could do but remove the rocks) to get to the parking area and the road is good (suitable for 2WD) Many people walked down to the first cascades and top of the falls but didn't choose to continue on to the bottom the falls. It is a steep walk down to the falls with many rocks and roots so may not be suitable for everyone. When you get to the base, also go for a walk to the right and see another small waterfall. It gets the heart pumping walking back up. There was water flowing even though it has been dry.

Our third walk for the day (after Araucaria Falls and Sylvesters Lookout). A relatively short and easy walk. On a clear day, you can see Brisbane from the Lookout.
Wheel of Fire walk (Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday) |

A very enjoyable walk. We say many people stop at the small cascades and rock pools at the top of the falls, but keep going. It is a steep walk down to the bottom of the falls but worth it.
Killen Falls (New South Wales) |

A very easy walk to the viewing platform and the down to the base of the falls. The falls and waterhole are like a postcard. One of the nicer falls that we have been to, but I imagine that it is very busy in the warmer months. I highly recommend this one.
Cascades Circuit (Main Range National Park) |

A very enjoyable walk, which continually crisscrosses the creek, with many cascades along the way. Completing in a clockwise direction is best as the final part of the walk is on a steep 4 wheel drive track, which would be difficult to climb. You would get wet feet if there has been a lot of rain.
Crows Nest Falls Circuit (Crows Nest National Park) |

A relatively easy walk. We did the walk in the rain, which added atmosphere and colour contrast and personally we feel made it better. A very rocky environment.
Bowie Flats Wetlands (Brisbane City Council Local Walks) |

Very Easy |
1km return 20 mins |
|
A very short dog-friendly and wheelchair friendly walk. As there has been very little rain in recent times, the water is low and the ducks and ibis have dirtied the water. At times there was a stagnant stale smell. Some good reflections and many birds mid-afternoon.
Gheerulla Falls (Mapleton National Park) |

We walked in to the Valley view then back out (rather than the full circuit). We estimate that this was about 10 kms. We were disappointed, as although the walk was relatively easy the bushland was nothing special. The sun was in the wrong direction for decent photos so would be best earlier in the morning. Not so picturesque for photographers but an easy walk for those whom exercise is the main priority.
Lower Portals (Mt Barney National Park) |

It was great to see the bush recovering from the bush fires last year. At times there were views of Mt Barney and Mt Maroon. It was very dry and dusty, so ensure that you take your water. We are not as agile as we once were, so we found it challenging to get across the boulders to see the small waterfall at the end of the portals. This is the highlight of the walk as the reflections are fantastic. Very peaceful and relaxing. There was a lot of up and downs and we were glad to get back to the car park |

Witches Chase (Tamborine National Park) |
10 May, 2020 |
Medium |
2.6km return 2 hrs |

Although there is limited parking, there are a lot fewer people parked at the Witches Chase end of the walk, rather than the Witches Falls car park, which can be very busy. It is an up and back walk to the falls, which are best to visit after rain. You can double the walk by completing the Witches Falls circuit if you are after a longer walk. It is a walk that you can do several times as it is a beautiful and interesting walk and different in the different seasons. I suggest completing the circuit walk in a clockwise direction if you would prefer to walk up a gradual slope and down stairs.
Witches Falls (Tamborine National Park) |

A beautiful picturesque walk at any time of the year. It can be done over and over again as it varies depending on the season and how much rain. The largest tree that I have ever seen is on this walk. We have completed in both directions at different times and prefer to walk clockwise so that we are walking down steps (rather than up steps) and walking up a gradual sloped path.
Mt Ngungun (Glass House Mountains National Park) |

Medium |
2.8km return 90 mins |

One of my favourite walks in Queensland to date. It was a decent walk up, with a few stops to catch my breath on a warm day, but the view (reward) at the top is spectacular as you can see 360 degrees and the beauty of the glass house mountains. Ensure that you take water and I suggest that it is best to do on a cooler day. Take your camera! |

Goomoolahra Falls and Rainbow Falls (Springbrook National Park) |
26 Jan, 2020 |
Medium |
4.4km return 90 mins |
|
A beautiful walk, especially after some rain. Sheer cliffs and waterfalls and very picturesque. Most people seem to prefer the shorter Twin Falls Circuit and avoid the 17km circuit sign. We had previously viewed the Goomoolahra falls from the short walk lookout at the top but this does not compare to viewing the cascades from mid way. Once day we shall continue the walk to the base. It can be muddy and it is necessary to walk under the Rainbow falls to continue to Goomoolahra Falls. There were several other smaller water falls on the way as it had been raining. |
