Beautiful walk through dense rainforest. Arriving at the top of the falls was a beautiful reward, but continuing on to the base of the waterfall was 100% worth the extra effort. My 4 & 6 year old loved this walk. Note: The first half of the track was quite slippery on the downhills today (after rain yesterday) and the second half is quite steep and rocky so not necessarily suitable for all walkers. We did the creek-crossing after the picnic area in a 4WD. Would not have attempted in 2WD in current conditions. |

We completed this in anti-clockwise direction to avoid the worst of the inclines. My 4&6 year old ran ahead most of the way and made friends with other kids on the track. We added an extra out & back leg to see the Barker Creek Lookout, which made our walk about 9km total. Great for my step-count, but the lookout was not quite the reward I was looking for - the other stops along the Scenic Circuit were more interesting, in my opinion. Looking forward to returning and doing the Barker Creek Circuit next time - there's always more to see. |

East Lookout (Glen Rock Regional Park) |

Easy-to-follow path with beautiful views of Glen Rock and the valley below. Not much shade cover, and watch out for a few slippery spots with loose gravel surface. My 4 & 6 year old handled this hike with only minimal grumbling on the climbs. The grassy area behind the wooden hut was very overgrown so it took 5mins or so to find the start of the track. (Now we know to head to the right hand side of the hut & up the little hill towards Glen Rock, not following the bunny trails that head down into the gully directly behind the hut). |

This is a slightly longer walk than Fantail but more enjoyable because it is better shaded and generally has fewer people on the trail. Saw a goanna walking along a lower section of the track today.

Lots of zig zags. Saw a large legless lizard today. Gets dark quite early as this track is east-facing. Don't leave it too late or the walk can be pretty gloomy.

The top section between the waterfall and the cafe is a nice easy walk with kids, with amazing views (though quite overgrown today). Once you head down the hill, the path is steep and can be slippery underfoot. A big slog for little legs to make it back up to the playground/carpark. |
