Stunning view up top! Worth the trek. It's a dry and dusty one, so take lots of water (2L minimum), and start the hike early in the day. You will work up a sweat (I did), and feel your heart pumping, but you feel great when you reach the top! The make a good cappuccino at the Lake Moogerah Cafe, so be sure to treat yourself after you've conquered Mt Edwards. 🙂

Loved this hike! The fact that the hike was pretty much covered the majority of the way by lush rainforest was in my books - 'perfect'. I would class this one of the more enjoyable hikes that I've done, and will definitely do it again. The views from the top are magnificent! Make sure you pack a picnic to enjoy at the peak. 🙂

Flinders Peak was my 'very first hike' and it nearly killed me! It was HARD!! The group I went with advertised this hike as a 'casual stroll up Flinders Peak', hence the reason I thought I could conquer it with ease. I have since learnt to do my own research before embarking on a hike. Don't rely on other's! What one might consider a 'casual stroll' may well be a difficult venture for another. Completed hike in: 5.5 hours (6:30am - 12:00pm). |
