Mount Edwards (Moogerah Peaks National Park)

Stunning view up top! Worth the trek. It's a dry and dusty one, so take lots of water (2L minimum), and start the hike early in the day. You will work up a sweat (I did), and feel your heart pumping, but you feel great when you reach the top! They make a good cappuccino at the Lake Moogerah Cafe, so be sure to treat yourself after you've conquered Mt Edwards. 🙂
Minyon Grass to Base of Minyon Falls (Nightcap National Park)

Minyon Falls = AMAZING!! Definitely worth the short trek to the waterfall. Take your togs as the swim at the falls is so worth it. No matter what temperature the water may be - jump in!! You will be invigorated and refreshed. My only wish is that I had been able to stay in the water longer. Loved this hike.

Beautiful views the whole way!! Angourie Coastal Trek is gorgeous. If you love the beach, exploring and collecting rocks or shells, this is the hike for you. It isn't a difficult hike, and there are plenty of places to stop and bask in the beauty around you. Make sure you slip, slop, slap though, as there is no coverage, you will be hiking out in the sunshine. :) Don't forget to visit the cave at the very end of the hike before you turn around to trek back - it is worth it.

CRYOTHERAPY 101!! If you want a free cryotherapy session, go for a dip at Twin Falls Circuit during the month of April!! Blimey it was cold, that cold that it felt like there were 1000's of tiny pin pricks attacking my body all at once. What an experience!! My hand was still numb 20 minutes afterwards. Memorable I must say, lol. Hike-wise it is a beautiful, easy, enjoyable trek.

A short hike that will put a spring in your step. Gorgeous view at the top.
Somerset Trail (D'Aguilar National Park)

Somerset Trail is a beautiful hike. A long trek but not intense. The rainforest sections were lush. Back burning had occurred in certain sections of the trek so this made a great contrast for photos. Definitely a hike I would recommend.
Natural Bridge (Springbrook National Park)

Gorgeous meander to the Natural Bridge. One of the most beautiful natural wonders I've seen. Disappointing however that you can no longer swim in the waterhole, as that used to be the highlight for me growing up. Much preferred the old days when everything was fenced off. The Natural Bridge was far more 'natural' back then. :)
Stringybark Circuit to Daisy Hill Quarry (Daisy Hill Conservation Park)

A local hike for me which I enjoy doing from time to time. Just under 6km to the quarry and back, it is a pleasant walk. Swimming in the quarry is something I love. Gives me time to think and enjoy nature away from the hustle and bustle of the world we live in.
Goonengerry National Park Waterfall (New South Wales)

Another world!! Absolutely breathtaking. If you want to wash all your worries away, this is the place to go. Go first thing in the morning before anyone else gets there and you will certainly not regret it.
The Northbrook River Trail (Northbrook Gorges) (Brisbane Forest park D'Aguilar National Park)

FUN and WET!! Loved every moment of it. The best day out. Northbrook Gorge is by far one of my favourite hikes. My advice: Pack your gear in dry bags and wear clothing and shoes you don't mind getting wet. You will be swimming through certain sections of the gorge, so make sure you can swim as well!! This hike is not recommended for those who are unable to swim. Most importantly have fun and be safe. Best time to go is after there has been a heavy downpour of rain. Be careful on the rocks though, these can be very slippery. ENJOY!! Don't forget to pack some dry clothes for after the hike. Best to leave these in your vehicle, as you will want to pop these on afterwards.
Mt Mitchell (Main Range National Park)

STUNNING views from the top!! Worth the trek up. I would rate this hike more difficult than Mt Cordeaux (opposite side of the highway), but anyone with a decent fitness level can do it - your legs will get a good work out. Note, this hike is not as covered as Mt Cordeaux, so slip, slop and slap. Be sure to take a bite to eat for when you reach the top. It is worth stopping for a short while to take in the breathtaking views.

Loved this hike! The fact that the hike was pretty much covered the majority of the way by lush rainforest was in my books - 'perfect'. I would class this one of the more enjoyable hikes that I've done, and will definitely do it again. The views from the top are magnificent! Make sure you pack a picnic to enjoy at the peak. 🙂
Daves Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park)

Pleasant hike, not a difficult one. Good for beginner hikers who want to go the distance without intense inclines. Gorgeous views and just a beautiful day out amongst nature. I even stumbled across a friendly python who was sunning himself on the pathway. Thank goodness I didn't tread on him!! It was definitely a near miss. : )
Warrie Circuit (Springbrook National Park)

A LONG trek with stunning waterfalls and rock formations!! Beautiful but long!! Definitely a hike to do if you are wanting to do distance training. Take your togs as well, as there is a gorgeous waterhole to have a dip in. My advice - be prepared for any kind of weather!! Our return trek was a WET one!! Take a poncho or rain jacket and definitely take Bushman's spray. We had an onset of leeches on the trek back and they definitely made themselves known! Take plenty of water and snacks as you will need them.
Larapinta Falls (Lamington National Park)

Intense but worth it!! Definitely go and have coffee afterwards - you will need it!!
If you love rainforest walks, this is for you. You will need good upper and lower body strength though, as there are sections you will need to literally reef yourself up and over. I recommend doing this hike with a group, as it is very easy to get lost on this trail if you aren't familiar with it. Watch out for the 'stinging nettles' and the 'wait-a-while' climbing plants, as there are plenty of these along the trail. Definitely don't get hooked by one of these!!
Venman Circuit (South East Queensland)

An easy hike through local bushland. Nothing too strenuous. A few inclines but nothing major.
Flinders Peak (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

Flinders Peak was my 'very first hike' and it nearly killed me! It was HARD!! The group I went with advertised this hike as a 'casual stroll up Flinders Peak', hence the reason I thought I could conquer it with ease. I have since learnt to do my own research before embarking on a hike. Don't rely on others! What one might consider a 'casual stroll' may well be a difficult venture for another.

Completed hike in: 5.5 hours (6:30am - 12:00pm).
