Getting there:

Off the Bruce Highway at Nerang on the Gold Coast take the Nerang Murwillumbah Road. Signposted after the dam take a left onto Pine Creek Road and left again onto Springbrook Road that leads you up onto and across the plateau to the various lookouts and walks.

This walk starts from either the Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon Lookout.

Springbrook National Park

Route/Trail notes:

The track is easy to follow but steep in places and can be completed in either direction although anti-clockwise is recommended. There are two junctions where the Warrie Circuit meets this circuit, one near Twin Falls and the other at the base of Blackfellow Falls, but both are well signposted.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

The area is very busy particularly at weekends and parking can therefore be a problem.

If you can, visit local information centre a couple kms from Canyon Lookout. I believe it was once the original schoolhouse.

A cooling swim and a picnic at Twin Falls is well worth the effort of the walk down.

I've done this track MANY times and always enjoy it. It's great for kids as there's so much to look at and fun sections to cross. Walking behind waterfalls etc. Highly reccomend after a bit of rain so the falls are flowing well. If it's a rainy day... still go! It's always worth it and you might just get the falls to yourself ;)

Amazing walk! Great waterfalls and rock wall walkthroughs. If it’s been raining, prepare to get wet! Walked with a baby.

Nice easy ramble. Good track. Lots of bird life and the sound of running water makes for a nice walk.

Middle of winter, freezing cold and this place was packed. No parking available at Purling Brook so did Twin Falls as the next best option and it was well worth it, with the various waterfalls that you walk behind, rock pool picnic area, rock clefts to walk through and lush rainforest as you walk along the bottom of the 80m cliff face.

4.5/5 stars, 1.5hrs return at relaxed pace. Similar to Purlingbrook, going clockwise (go to the left at the start of the trail) is better in my opinion. Going anticlockwise, it only takes perhaps 15min to reach the falls, which if you’re more keen on the swimming might be better, but in terms of a walk, I’d prefer walking longer to the falls and then shorter back to the carpark. Either way, you start off fairly close to the top of the falls. The entire walk has less elevation change than Purlingbrook but similar duration. That being said, this walk is considerably more enjoyable, there are a lot more interesting things to see along the walk than the Purlingbrook track; it similarly has plenty of rainforest, but also some passing of smaller waterfalls, passing through rock formations, etc., so a much more enjoyable walk. The temperature is very cool as well due to the shade. However, because the walk is quite nice, it is quite a popular walk, so going on a weekday might be nicer to beat the crowds. I've done this walk 1 time.

My first hike and still one of my favourites. This is the one I choose to bring new Hikers too. It's just lovely and an easy walk.

Amazing walk! Not too hard but hard enough to be interesting. Amazing views! Amazing Forrest! Excellent walk for wet weather conditions. Did take ponchos with us and were glad to have them.

Easy and beautiful walk! You will walk by 2 waterfalls. We started our walk by the canyon lookout and it was amazing!
