Goolman Lookout (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate) |

7.5km 2.5 hrs |

Well defined wide track that takes a steady climb to the top at the Goolmans lookout. Seat to stop and enjoy a break. Views of the Great dividing range and across to Brisbane. Moderate climb, but easily done with average fitness. Location of walk is well sign posted from main Ipswich/Boonah highway and plenty of parking at picnic grounds. There is to be a camping ground built too at some stage.

After doing the Goolmans Lookout walk we had lunch back at the picnic area and then took a relaxing wander along the bushtucker track that connects with it. Nothing more than an easy stroll around the picnic and lily ponds. Great spot.

Bunya is one of my favourite places which never fails to please. This is an easy walk with lots of diversity in habitat and some superb views at the lookouts. Ideal for the whole family. Great place to get some good nature photos too.

A fairly easy flat walk, although the first 5km from Elanda Point to Kin Kin creek was deceiving because it was longish grass and spongy to walk on and a bit more tiring than expected, plus very hot. After crossing the Kin Kin creek footbridge the flora changed to more tropical with a lot of palms providing plenty of shade. The track was good and had a gentle undulating terrain. There were a few patches of very boggy ground where I had to go off track scaling fallen logs to get through as the water was too deep for my boots. Small pleasant picnic area at Fig Tree Point. I had arranged with friends who were kayaking to pick me up at Fig Tree Point, so I kayaked back to Elanda. It was a very pleasant trip heading back through the waterlilies. |

Entered the walk from the Sunshine beach side as there is plenty of parking along Park Edge Rd. McAnally St entrance only has 4 car spaces but goes directly to Alexandria beach [clothing optional on beach]. Easy walk along all of the tracks out along the Tanglewood track to Hell's Gate and then follow along the Coast track towards Noosa where there are many tourists and site seers walking. Returned via Noosa Hill to the far end of Park Edge Rd. Lots of butterflies basking in the sun spots on the track and magnificent views along the coast from the headland. The track is quite sandy and is easily walked in casual shoes. |

Easy to moderate section up to Castle Rock with a short scamble up and through a groove between two granite bolders for a fabulous view. No real flat spots on ridge. Backtracked then continued on to Mt Norman an additional 3.4km through easy bushland to the base of the climb. About 100m steep climb up the granite face with great views to a ridge with views off in another direction. Didn't finish the last section as it got too hard for me. Very open hot climbing the granite sticking to the white paint markers.
