A trail to the summit of Mt Warning offers beautiful 360 degree views of the Great Dividing Range from the peak. Lots of steps, can be slippery. A steep climb to the summit using chains, but the views from the top are worth it!

Excellent walk1 great views started at 4.30am after the steps there were beautiful glow worms on the bank to the left. Sunrise at top was magnificent.

Have done the summit on New Years morning two years in a row in hopes of catching first sunlight. Both times have been greeted with Clouds :\ This year we're heading to NZ for new years. I don't want this to become my white whale.

Great hike though.

Done this one a few times. Toughie but a goodie. Bring plenty of water and snacks. The view is great :-)

I loved this walk, especially the rocky bit at the end with the chain to help you climb to the summit. My husband and I did this walk on my 28th birthday and we were also lucky enough to see my very first koala in the wild on this trail. Was a great day of walking with a beautiful panoramic view at the summit.

Great walk. Easy peak with a little climb at the end.

This is a great walk and assisted scramble via a chain to the summit, as i was on top a storm was coming in, the sound of the thunder and the flashes of lightning made the walk a more magical experience

I have done this hike 3 times. First time in 1992 when, except for the final ascent on the rock face, I found it relatively easy. I did it again in 1998 when I was training for my visit to Nepal for my 60th birthday. The last time was in 2003 when I was 70. I found that quite hard - and even more difficult coming down. There was much more tree roots etc. However, it is well worth doing - at any age. The scenery from the top is fantastic - on a clear day. I was amazed to see many young dads, carrying their kids on their back. Not sure if that's a good idea, as it can be quite slippery at times. You definitely need sturdy shoes (I wore tramping boots). Make sure you have a hat, sunscreen and lots of water. A packed lunch is also worthwhile. Heed all the warning signs and preferably go early in the morning as it can get dark very quickly in the mountains - especially in winter. Enjoy!

Went on this walk with a group from Church. It was great fun. Actually managed to run up and down in around 2 hours. Jelly legs at the end though.

Third summit of Warning, finally got to see the view uninterrupted by clouds. Astounding! Getting older now, when I reached the stairs near the bottom my knees were in excruciating pain from the kicking action of the descent. Took days to recover.

Climbed to the summit to see the sunrise on Easter Sunday. Top was clouded out and raining but enjoyed a warm cup of tea from thermos before descending down in torrential rain.

Fun walk to do super early to see the sun rise in the East.

Tim on 22 Nov, 1998

Second climb of Warning. Still could not see the view for the clouds.

gracilicaudatus on 1997

First attempt while at uni with walking group. Didn't see the view. The Cloudmaker was cloudmaking.

The zig-zag walkway up the mountain makes it relatively easy. Very atmospheric at the top when shrouded in cloud

Did this 2011, yesterday. Very very easy walk. The summit is pleasant with all of the platforms and sitting areas. A leisurely stroll.

Great walk - 2.5 hour round trip at moderate pace. Final climb is a challenge. Bench seats along the trail to take a break. Emergency pick-up points if there is a medical crisis. Always pack a an all-weather jacket and plenty of water.

Great classic summit walk - completed this many times over the past decade. Great to hike up in dark for sunrise :) Be careful on final section, steep rock scramble :)
