An interesting walk from near Mt Cootha summit down to Fleming Rd, the Environmental centre and back up to the start via Chapel Hill Rd Trail. You will see plenty of water dragons, butterflies and birdlife.
Follow Samuel Griffith drive clockwise about 200mts past the summit lookout to a paved parking area on the left.
- Follow Reservoir Trail for around 100m and veer right down Honeyeater track. Follow this track down the mountain towards Fleming Road ignoring Reservoir Trail & Rose Robin Track.
- Just before Fleming Rd veer left to the Environmental Centre. Then follow the Butterly Track and veer right onto Marmindie Street Track. This will bring you out onto Marmindie St.
- Turn left onto Nankoor St and follow until you reach the first left (Yanum Pl). At the end of this you will reach a small walking track.
- Turn right and follow this until you reach a 4X4 fire management trail (Chapel Hill Rd Track). This track is as steep as Kokoda Trail but more slippery.
- Turn left and follow this until you reach Reservoir Track.
- Turn right and follow a couple of hundred metres to the starting point.
