Pushed further along the ridge to the north west to the top of a second knoll before dropping down into a gully and following a creek down which swung south east before meeting with another creek that flows south. It took me 2hrs to reach this point due to extremely thick undergrowth with lots of patches of Lantana along the ridgeline and very steep descent down to the creek. No views to be had but a nice sheltered valley of palms to be discovered which was the domain of 3 wild pigs.

Up for sunrise again. Quite an unusual bushwalk in that a lot of people choose to walk this in the early hours of the morning to reach the summit for sunrise. Standing room only at the summit this morning. Who knew it would be this popular on the 10th January?

Nice to see this walk open again. I took my son for his 15th birthday and his first ascent of this mountain. Unfortunately he tripped over after all the hard stuff on his way down and twisted his ankle. I had to carry him out on my back!

After a thunderstorm in the early hours of the morning this track up the east face was more of a river than a track with lots of water coming down.

Took our French exchange student on this walk. Saw whales, dolphins, an echidna, blue tongue lizard and a koala.

Did this walk as a warm down the day after the Gold Coast Marathon. Came across another marathoner that was running this circuit, obviously 42km the day before was not enough.

Nice challenging walk. We included West Peak and a diversion up Moonlight creek to above the waterfall to explore the approaches to Leaning Peak.

Great walk with the boys. Climbed main summit for brilliant views of Mt Barney before descending and climbing northern peak and circumnavigating swampy area and returning.

Nice, tough walk. Mostly off track, navigation experience, compass and topographical map are essential particularly in white out conditions.

Very challenging walk. Great views. Lots of wild flowers and wildlife. Saw heaps of Brush Tailed Rock Wallabies, Kangaroos and a 2.5m carpet python.
Chermside Hills, Raven St Reserve, and Milne Hill Circuit (South East Queensland)	3 Mar, 2014	Medium	7.1km return 2 hrs
Overall an easy walk with a slightly challenging gully crossing. A number of steps throughout, some bitumen tracks, concrete tracks, formed dirt tracks and some areas with no tracks at all (just grass). Today I saw some wallabies in the Trouts Rd Future Transport Route reserve, kookaburras, scrub turkeys and some water dragons.

Walk was pleasant, especially through the Piccabeen Palm gully. View at end was pretty good although a little hazy today. Track was well maintained and easily followed.

Nice walk. As I came to a clearing I was expecting to be looking west but was surprised to be looking out over towards Moreton Island. It was an overcast day, that is my excuse anyway.
