Getting there:

Off the Bruce Highway at Nerang on the Gold Coast take the Nerang Murwillumbah Road. Signposted after the dam take a left onto Pine Creek Road and left again onto Springbrook Road that leads you up onto and across the plateau to the various lookouts and walks.

This walk starts from either the Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon Lookout.

Springbrook National Park

Route/Trail notes:

The track is easy to follow but steep in places and can be completed in either direction although anti-clockwise is recommended. There are two junctions where the Warrie Circuit meets this circuit, one near Twin Falls and the other at the base of Blackfellow Falls, but both are well signposted.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

The area is very busy particularly at weekends and parking can therefore be a problem.

If you can, visit local information centre a couple kms from Canyon Lookout. I believe it was once the original schoolhouse.

A cooling swim and a picnic at Twin Falls is well worth the effort of the walk down.

Easy and beautiful walk! You will walk by 2 waterfalls. We started our walk by the canyon lookout and it was amazing!

Lovely walk. Just did the Twin Falls circuit today. Lots of water per all the falls due to the recent heavy rains, but a lovely sunny day to enjoy it.

Awesome day. Easy walk. lovely waterfalls. Saw a huge Carpet Python at the start of the track and right beside the track. Also encountered a large blue spiny crayfish.

Fantastic! It was amazing walking under the waterfalls.

Beautiful walk! The falls were lovely and lots of water flowing. It was rainy on the day but swimming at the bottom was absolutely amazing!! Quite an easy track! I wasn't sure at the start where to continue following the trail or turn around. It appears the easier walk is to turn around once you get to the falls but I continued on and all up was around 5 km and took me two hours even with a swimming break and lunch.

My new favourite walk in Gold Coast Hinterland!! We went just after a lot of rain and it was INCREDIBLE. Absolutely loved it :)

Nice easy walk with great views of the falls as you go around. Very busy at the moment but a great walk to do with Purling Brook.

We went during a time when Springbrook was receiving a lot of rain fortunately it didn’t rain the day we went but the view was spectacular if we went to that waterfall any other time that wasn’t in the wet season it wouldn’t have been that beautiful.

water falls after epic rain where amazing

Did this walk and then Purling Brook falls walk. Very beautiful although water is so low the waterfall had lost its twin. Only a single drop instead of two. Fabulous anyway. Would like to come back after rain. Must look amazing

A little bit dry but was an awesome walk!

Beautiful circuit. The water levels are very low right now so will definitely come back and do this again. Would love to see it full. The views from the escarpment are spectacular. Gorgeous! Well worth the effort.

It was truly a wonderful walk. The sounds and the fresh air was invigorating. Was going to do the Warrie circuit that day but had to do it before 11am. Would definitely do this again

Was breath taking. The different sounds of the birds, the green forest was just beautiful. After the waterfall you walk through a cathedral type cave which was amazing. A few big biting flys or bee, not sure but they hang around you and once landing bite.

Caparker on 18 Oct, 2020

Great walk. Go anti clockwise, and definitely go through the caves!

Trip with Underwood Scouts. Great walk. Not too busy. Decent water and as a bonus got to see a couple get engaged!

We've done a couple of the walks at Springbrook National Park, and this is by far my favourite. The track is easy enough. There's so much to look at, between the vegetation and the waterfalls and the 'caves'. We went after it had rained, and the waterfalls were cascading down.

Great walk, a couple of decent waterfalls that you can walk behind
