Getting there:

Off the Bruce Highway at Nerang on the Gold Coast take the Nerang Murwillumbah Road. Signposted after the dam take a left onto Pine Creek Road and left again onto Springbrook Road that leads you up onto and across the plateau to the various lookouts and walks.

This walk starts from either the Tallanbana picnic area or Canyon Lookout.

Springbrook National Park

Route/Trail notes:

The track is easy to follow but steep in places and can be completed in either direction although anti-clockwise is recommended. There are two junctions where the Warrie Circuit meets this circuit, one near Twin Falls and the other at the base of Blackfellow Falls, but both are well signposted.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

The area is very busy particularly at weekends and parking can therefore be a problem.

If you can, visit local information centre a couple kms from Canyon Lookout. I believe it was once the original schoolhouse.

A cooling swim and a picnic at Twin Falls is well worth the effort of the walk down.

Fantastic, not too difficult and got some great photos.

Beautiful walk on a Monday with less people than normal. Easy hour walk that showcases beautiful lookouts and two waterfalls.

A great, easy walking trail with an awesome waterfall to reward your effort.

Amazing walk with plenty to see. Picturesque from start to finish as you follow the redhead along and defend via switchbacks into the valley below. Walking behind the falls was great and we stopped to have a snack beside the pond beneath the falls. Really enjoyed this walk, easy enough and hassle free, well marked etc.

Unreal!!

A really lovely walk that even the kids (9, 4) enjoyed (mostly 😉). We chose to head left at the first fork, up to Canyon Lookout. Very busy today as it was a public holiday, especially at the base of twin falls.
My watch clocked us at 5.3km and 2 hours from the Tallanbana picnic area and back.

One of the best walks yet! 2 hours with little kids (3 &5) and a lunch break.

Awesome walk. Third time we've done it. Powerful falls at the moment.

Both falls flowing after all the rain we've had recently. Very popular spot, best to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Great walk - can get a bit busy sometimes at the falls. Do the full loop and it gets quieter and you see some great views.

Lovely solo trek through Springbrook today. But gosh it's dry!! Twin falls was only Solo Falls. You could see on the track everywhere that there should be water but wasn't. Very pretty walk, I'm assuming after rain it converts to stunning. Some amazing rock formations and lookouts too . I can see why many people list this as one of their favourites. Easy gradients, a few stairs but never a lot at once.

Lovely walk. Well defined track. Easy walking . Completed track in 1 hour 15mins. Quite busy. The waterfalls were amazing after recent rain.

This is well worth the full circuit! Walking under both twin falls and blackfellow falls is amazing. I expected track to be slippery under falls but it wasn't. Great views of the Gold Coast in the background offering a contrast on life.

CassyN on 31 Dec, 2018

Very hazy due to dust and smoke but a decent amount of water coming over the falls. Been a long time since my last walk and it was even nicer than I remember.
