Walk on Water Track (New South Wales) |

Lots of Mossies, so we recommend taking insect repellant. Apart from that not a bad walk. I reckon it's the best looking mangrove Boardwalk I've seen. It was actually quite picturesque, so we'll done to those who built the boardwalk. Also the signs were quite informative, being a little different to those found in the national parks.

As said, easy walk, nice views. We passed one lady on the way there who had just seen dolphins from the lookout, though we didn't.

We began the walk at the Never Never Picnic Area and returned by the same route. The return journey was definitely easier. There was just one part of the track that was a bit overgrown, but not too much trouble getting through. Also there were a couple of trees over the path. Still a great walk. The path passed over the this of the first waterfall, although you can enjoy a smaller one just upstream. The path follows a couple of creeks and you can see some other smaller waterfalls along the way.

This is a fantastic walk. The views from the lookout are just amazing making this walk, in our opinion the best in the park.

The walk to the falls is very pretty. However, the view of the falls is disappointing. These falls must be quite impressive, but you can't see too much. There is fencing erected to keep walkers safe, but unfortunately no viewing platform. You can see a little through the trees from behind the fence.

We walked this track to the picnic area and then returned via Jordan's trail, and retraced our steps back along the escarpment track. Should have taken more water. We were pretty dehydrated by the end. There are a few lookouts along the way, but Lucifer's Thumb at the end of the Chaelundi Track is definitely the best in the area.

We really enjoyed the open plain. It was covered with what looked like something similar to small grass trees all with spikes. It was a really hot day, but the breeze over the flat plains made it cooler there than among the trees.

We walked this as part of the whole circuit. This part is probably the hilliest, but not at all hard, and is quite pleasant.

This was the last of the connecting trails that we followed today, before re-joining the Boronia Track and taking it back to the carpark. It was a really hot day, and we were glad to have carried water.

We did this walk as part of the walk to Artists Cascades. It is a loop track, joining up with the Great Walk track 300m further down. We did it on the way back in a clockwise direction, but it would probably be easier anti-clockwise. The entrance to the mine isn't in good shape. A tree has fallen over the top of it, not that you can go into the mine anyway. Take care. We did see a two metre long carpet snake near the mine.

We saw so many birds on this walk. We couldn't identify them all, but we did see a flock of black cockatoos, three whip birds, some yellow robins and we think we saw a wompoo fruit dove, though it flew away very quickly. The cascades are lovely.

We walked this track on our way to the Artists Cascades. The fig is only about 30cm tall at the moment. It will be good to see it grow.

This was quite a nice walk. However we actually started at the cafe on the other side of Currimundi Lake, walked right around the lake (including the Heath Track), and then all the way to Point Cartright along the beach. We then returned back along the Coastal pathway as far as it went and then back onto the beach to continued the way we came. In all about 25km and a half hours. Good walk.

This is the second time we have done this walk. Last time we couldn't find the track. No problem this time I think mainly because we parked in the right place. The directions are really clear. However, to make it even clearer, the house number of the driveway that you drive into is 2672. You don't actually drive into their property though. The first part of the walk up to the first peak was easy to find. The view from the top is fantastic. The track between the two peaks is less easy to see in places, however it's pretty easy to navigate because you know where you're going. On the way down from the second peak we got way off the path. It was pretty steep in places and lots of loose rocks. We didn't see the cliff or the gully. I think we were heading too much in an easterly direction. If your planning on taking children, I would try the walk first without them to makes sure your comfortable with the track and know where you're going. However no problem with the first peak and just back-tracking down.

We only walked half way along and back today. There have been lots of 4WD's along the beach and the sand is pretty soft and chopped up. The tide was coming in and we didn't want to find ourselves walking back in too much loose sand. Great day for a walk though.

This is probably the first time we haven't spotted osprey at some point along this walk - maybe because of the time of day. It was early afternoon. As the tide was coming in some of the sand we had to walk on was a bit soft. |
