Mid-week walk, track was pretty quiet with a handful of people at the falls. A little squelchy and muddy in some spots but nothing huge, walked in Nike Air Kukinis (aesthetic sneakers, not for actual sports lol) and it was fine | ||||

Great starter walk! So lovely to start at the rocky outcrops and ironbark forest, slowly descending into the rainforest :) The waterfall is VERY gushy and misty today from the recent rains 💧 Nice lookouts overlooking Hinze Dam and the city of GC. Unfortunately, the eastern section is closed so had to go down to the base of the falls and back on the same track. Track report: Squelchy and wet from the rain. Had a few people in nice new-ish runners stop and chat with us (in hiking boots) about the puddles lol. Weirdly busy for a Monday. No leeches! |

Seriously stunning walk, a concise summary of everything Lamington has to offer 💚 Such variety of biomes, from open gum/ironbark forests, to piccabeen palm gullies, to rainforest. Koolanbilba Lookout was cool but Yangahla Lookout was unreal, especially during dusk on the way back. The falls itself was nice n gushy from the recent rains 💧 Track report: No leeches, bit muddy in some places. Northern section of Lower Bellbird Circuit is closed so you wouldn't be able to start from the lower trailhead. Also, the Saddle Trailhead is kind of obstructed by these ugly ass scaffolding rn so it's hard to spot if you didn't know where it was (we did not lol). Started at 1 PM and got back by 6 at a leisurely pace with headtorches. No lyrebirds :( |

A reasonably easy walk. Some people on the track even though it was mid-week! The lookout on Trachyte Circuit was one of the highlights for sure, wish it wasn't so overcast the day we went. Started pelting rain at Tibro base circuit so I don't actually remember how it went hahahah. 🌼💐 Flora spots: Geodorum densiflorum / Shepherds Crook Orchid quite prolific and about to bloom :) Some remaining fungi from the rains too |

Amazing evening walk in the full moon 💙 Glow worms were everywhere in the cave and in sections of the soil 🪱. Also saw bioluminescent fungi and a group of orange eyed tree frogs calling prolifically 🐸🌳 |

A mucky humid summer evening walk 🌑 So great that council has gazetted off this small park in the middle of suburbia and highways! It’s not much to look at and not worth travelling to, but it’s great for us locals. Spotted an endangered swamp crayfish (Tenuibranchiurus glypticus) which made the heat worth it! 🦞 Other cool spots include: pink nodding orchids and plenty of cool fungi |

A stunning late winter walk ⛰️ Took around 3.5 hours at a brisk space. 1 hour up to Mt. Cordeaux lookout and another 45 to Bare Rock. We loved the changes in biomes 💚 From rainforests, rocky outcrops, and the grassy saddle. The view from Bare Rock is fr way better compared to Mt Cordeaux and Mitchell. 🦅 Fauna spots: Was super lucky to see a wedge-tailed eagle doing a low flyover while at the lookout! Also saw three Albert's lyrebird which is insane. One at very close range. <3 🌼💐 Flora spots: First few gymea spear lilies starting to shoot out flower spikes. Golden ever lasting daisies abound at the lookout :) |

Nice winter walk ⛰️ Took an hour up from the Crest Carpark at a very brisk pace. IMO the views are way better at Bare Rock. I would also recommend checking out the little crevice with the gold miner's sign; it's cool to walk through the gaps between the mountain :) |

Super lush and easy walk 💧 We started from the lower carpark at Stradbroke Road. Loved walking by the creek and seeing all the lorikeets and rosellas playing in the trees <3 The walk from the trailhead to the falls was super easy. Continued on to the Plateau Hike as we had a bit more energy. Spotted like 4 koalas which was sick 🐨 |
