We camped out during a spectacular storm that hit the south of Brisbane. It was quite majestic seeing the flashes of lightning in the distance and a little nerve-wracking wondering if the storm would come our way. The campsite had a bit more litter than we're used to, so we had some dark thoughts about whoever felt it was okay to deface the place like that. We did a cleanup and walked out everything we could the next day. The refuse station is conveniently located at the beginning of the walk. In short, it was a pleasant little stroll in and out of the site, and it was well equipped with water tanks, a hut, picnic bench and fire pit. It's a good spot to take young children just starting out as hikers.

This is a great little walk (only about an hour if you don’t dawdle) and the campsite is beautiful. You wake early to a symphony of bird calls. Heavenly!

Very clear track and not too difficult to walk with heavy packs. The camp grounds were nice with log seating around a fire pit, a hut with a table and seating, and a tank. We had the place to ourselves until some cyclists and walkers passed through the next morning. Lacks the beauty of the Northbrook Mountain camp but was still very nice.

First hike and camp with an overloaded backpack. Quite a steep walk in and out. Saw a juvenile brown snake (eek). The camp grounds were in excellent condition with log seating around a fire pit. The views from the peak were lovely. We had drinks and nibblies up there in the late arvo and then ran up early in the morning to see the sunrise. Magical. This is a beautiful spot. |
