I wouldn’t call this walk ‘easy’. I’m not unfit but I found going up was quite hard, I had to stop a few times and have some water/catch my breath. There were people doing it in jeans, thongs, I even saw one lady in a suit jacket! Definitely recommend that you wear proper clothes and walking shoes. Took me 25 mins going up, much quicker coming down as I didn’t need to stop (forgot to time it though).
View from the top was great, didn’t want to come back down. I think next time I will come back for sunset.
I parked at the school at the end of the road, added a couple of kms to the walk.
Thought it would have been busier being a Sunday but wasn’t too bad.

I had planned to do the blue track return but I ended up doing the circuit - blue > white > red. (12.6km, 2hr 40min, stopping for a few photos and water along the way). Portaloo at both ends of the blue track is handy.
Very pleasant walk, I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed it :) The Dam is quite low at the moment though. Closed in shoes are a must, the white track had lots of fire ants on the track. Didn’t see any koalas unfortunately :(
A very nice walk and I will do it again 👍🏼
Wappa Falls (Mapleton National Park)

Wouldn’t call this a walk, the car park is right at the falls. But seems like a nice swimming spot. Was quite busy.

I’ve done this walk many times now, it is one of my favourites. I don’t do the circuit, once I get to the lookout, I turn around and come back the same way, it is a much more pleasant walk. Just under 15km and 3hrs. For the comments about it not having adequate signage and getting lost etc... Um what?! It’s one of the easiest tracks I’ve followed! Not sure where people are getting lost 🤔
Anyhoo. Great track. Long but worth it. Few hills that get the heart pumping. Definitely not an “easy” walk as most others have said.

Nice walk, was 10.10km from the car return. Hasn't been raining much but track still wet and muddy. The boggy section isn't boggy anymore as they have raised it and laid gravel.
Got a bit confused at the first gate, the instructions weren't very clear. So to anyone else confused, cross over the gate and then turn right, follow the sign that says "North Arm-Yandina Creek Road gate".

Watch out for idiot 4WD'ers who obviously think it's funny to purposely drive through a deep puddle while I'm standing next to it at the bottom of the first lookout. He purposely detoured into the water when there was clear road without any water on it, completely covering me in dirty muddy water from the knees down. Thanks mate!

Besides the unfortunate event above, this is a fabulous walk. 7km to the lookout, then 6km back. I preferred the 7km section so next time i will go back the way I came. Also do the 1km Piccabeen Walk first then carry on to Somerset Circuit (I did it after but was kind of over it by then). It was busier than I thought it was going to be, and there were a few large loud groups that i couldn't get away from so that sort of ruined the serenity at times, but when I couldn't hear them carrying on it was wonderfully peaceful (until you hear a motorbike!). I will definitely do this walk again but will aim for mid week next time. Also the drive up there is great too.
I did this walk in walking sandals as my walking shoes broke yesterday, the sandals were fine even with the rain we'd had lately.
Baxter Falls - Southern Approach (Kondalilla National Park)

I did this walk with my 65 year old parents. It had been raining and even rained a little bit when we were walking so the track was muddy and slippery in parts. I was a bit worried about coming back up as the decline seemed to go on for ages but it was actually fine and I wasn't puffed at all (although I did have a couple of rest stops waiting for my folks to catch up). It took about 2 hours and just under 7km. Was a very enjoyable walk and the waterfall was great at the bottom.
Mt. Coot-tha Summit Track (Mt. Coot-tha)

5.3km return
75 mins
I did the Summit Track on the way up and Mahogany Trail on the way down (I parked at the beginning of JC Slaughter Falls picnic area). All up was 5.5km and took me 1 hour (not including stopping at the lookout at the top). The Summit Track was busy, lots of small children and dogs, so is not a very peaceful walk if you're looking for that. Mahogany Trail on the way back had less people but is more of a rocky track (good for mountain bike riding I would expect). The lookout was VERY busy but a great view of the city. Glad I've done it but probably won't do it again as I like my walks a bit more peaceful and in nature.
