Lower River Track (Daintree National Park)

Easy
1km return
30 mins
A nice walk and place for a swim. If you want to save time take the bus to the start, otherwise it's an extra 4km each way. The rock pools are very popular with tourists. Since you are already here I recommend doing the Rainforest Circuit at the same time.
Lake Barrine (Crater Lakes National Park)

Nice views of the lake. A good place to go bird watching. Didn't see any cassowaries :-/ Check out the cafe at the bottom of the car park for lunch, nice view and service.

A great place to visit. Amazing views through the elevated rainforest tracks. Highly recommend the audio tour. The tower at the end is a little scary but worth the climb.
Gwongoorool Rock Pools (Lamington National Park)

Well managed track. Go a couple days after the rain to see the waterfall across a couple sections of the track. The pools are a nice place for lunch.
Kinaba Track (Great Sandy National Park)
14 Aug, 2016
Easy

A lot of different environments and plenty of bird life. Possibly the best view I've seen from an information centre in QLD. Don't forget to check out the viewing platform on the second level. The boardwalk is good for bird watching. Watch out for mosquitoes, even in winter there were so many.
Mill Point (Great Sandy National Park)

Easy

Flat and not too far. Good views and informative signs on the area's history.
Thylogale Track (D'Aguilar National Park)
10 Aug, 2016
Easy
9km return

Nice view near the start of the track. Plenty of interesting plants and birds around. I recommend returning via the same track. The road is a lot quicker but steeper and a bit dangerous due to the traffic and minimal walking space.
The Cliffs Boardwalk (Brisbane City Council Local Walks)
10 Aug, 2016
Very Easy
2km one-way

You don't have to travel far from the city for this one. Beautiful river views, a nice place for a stroll or bike ride.
Moonlight Crag, Balancing Rock and Castle Crag (Lamington National Park)

A great walk with plenty to see. A good one to do if you're after some good views. Heaps of wildlife to see as well.
Moreton Bay Cycle Way (Woody Point to Scarborough section) (South East Queensland)

Nice relaxing walk, plenty of shops and cafes along to the way. Be sure not to miss the shipwreck at the beach cnr of Lilla St & Gayundah Esplanade.
Port Macquarie Coastal Walk (New South Wales)

Only did a section, the breakwater and painted rocks were very nice.
Glenbrook Lagoon Circuit (New South Wales)

A short walk around the lagoon. Track gets quite muddy after the rain.
Hazelbrook Four Waterfalls (New South Wales)

If you want to see lots of waterfalls in a short amount of time come here. My favourite being Burgess. Best to go a couple days after a good rain.
Minnehaha Falls (New South Wales)
9 Jul, 2016
Medium

An impressive waterfall and probably closest from the center of Katoomba. Good views from the top. The trip down to the bottom is worth it. Looks like a nice place for a swim in summer.
Thirlmere Lakes (New South Wales)
3 Jul, 2016
Easy
6km return
2 hrs
Decided to visit these lakes as I heard they are slowly draining, possibly due to coal mining in the area :-( Unfortunately the lakes are not visible from the western side of the loop. The views can be accessed from both picnic grounds on the east side. Be on the look out for wombats, plenty of burrows around. There a few unofficial tracks through the reeds (for bird watchers) but these are hard to follow and like an endless maze.
Erith Coal Mine Track (Morton National Park)
2 Jul, 2016
Medium
2.25km return
45 mins
Short but the historic mine site and information signs are very interesting. Once you reach the mine you can continue down the path to reach the base of the waterfall. Good photo opportunities.
Mount Carnavon Track (Morton National Park)
2 Jul, 2016
Medium
1km return
20 mins
The track is not clear in some areas. Not much to see. There are some interesting rock formations though. If there was ever a lookout at the top it's overgrown now.
Fern Glen Track (Morton National Park)
2 Jul, 2016
Medium
600m return
15 mins
Very overgrown, hard to see which way to go.
Fairy Bower Falls Walk (Morton National Park)
2 Jul, 2016
Medium
2.5km return
90 mins
Such a magnificent set of falls. Towards the base, before the steel platform looking up you'll see a large column covered in moss with water trickling down. As the light hits the water it looks like sparkling stars. Very magical. It's not as steep as the signage makes it out to be. Well worth the effort though.
Echo Point Lookout (Bundanoon) (New South Wales)
2 Jul, 2016
Very Easy
100m return

Great lookout. Listen for lyrebirds, they nest very close to the track.
