With three waterfalls this is a scenic intensive walk, not too strenuous, and well signed. Be careful crossing the fords as the rocks can be a bit slippery. There is a forth waterfall, Fairy Falls which is a short side trip near the start. Recommend going a couple of days after a strong rain (for maximum waterfall goodness). Wear long pants as the section heading towards and away from Frederica Falls is quite narrow and a bit overgrown, the plants will scratch your legs. Also plenty of bird life around including Black and Gang Gang Cockatoos, and numerous honeyeaters. |

As this is mostly a management trail there is not much to see on this walk. The lookout appeared to be blocked by trees. I recommend combining this walk with another in this area.

Quite steep in some areas. Some nice country scenery. Getting to this walk is a bit of a hassle. Watch out for the red bull ant (Myrmecia gulosa) nest just past the grass gully. These are very aggressive bull ants so if you see one immediately check your surrounding area and your shoes (they will climb up your shoes to sting you). The pain can last over a day. |

A long one but it has arguably the most beautiful views of the Great North Walk. The 125r lookout deserves a special mention, this is an off-shoot from the main track but well worth the extra 15 minutes. The first 3km of the track is quite steep but it's pretty flat for the rest. Plenty of wildlife to see, saw a few echidnas and lyrebirds. The only problem with this walk is access. There's no public transport around the area. Unless you have organised a car shuffle (40 minutes drive one-way) at the start/end of the walk then you're going to have to do this walk return (34km). |

An easy walk, a little steep at the start. Toilets and heaps of picnic tables here. The lookout from the car park is still closed. A nice view can be seen from the Peregine Lookout on the circuit (you can't see the falls from here though).

Retried this section today. The problematic area (fallen tree) I experienced last time has been fully cleared, the path is now visible again :-) I'm impressed how quickly the Department resolved the issue. Please note the walk is difficult to follow (look for the spray painted trees), make sure you bring GPS. As there are a lot of dips and creek crossings I recommend bringing along a set of trekking poles too. Despite the comments above, this walk has a couple of fantastic views, lush rainforest areas, two waterfalls and diverse plant and wildlife. |
