Wickham Peak - Calytrix Circuit (Wickham Timber Reserve) (South East Queensland)
12 Mar, 2017
Medium
7km return
2 hrs
I did this in combination with the caves route also in this park. The incline wasn't very steep - I'd classify this as an easy walk.

The actual Peak Lookout isn't that amazing, I actually preferred the smaller 'grass tree lookout' on the Calytrix circuit.

The bushland is nice and I'd recommend this walk if you're after something not very strenuous or challenging.
Small Cave (Plunkett Conservation Park) (South East Queensland)

Medium

We combined this with the Wickham Peak walk in this park.

A pretty easy walk up fire access roads to locate some rocks and a small cave. The walk wasn't really worth it alone so we walked all the way across to the Wickham Peak to see some more scenery.

Went up early this morning. A nice walk - not very hard at all. Great views from the top. Watch the edge. 1:04 up and 54mins back down.

Mt Blaine Summit Trail (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
5 Feb, 2017
Hard

Another walk up (west) and back down (east). Great views. Lots of slippery rocks going up and down. Hardly ever used so almost guaranteed to be by yourself.
Great views of Flinder's Peak!
White Rock Ridge Hike (White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate)
29 Jan, 2017
Hard
6.5km
2 hrs
Walked this again today. The council has installed fresh signage so it's much better marked now which also means there much more foot traffic on the ridge hike now. Still a great walk and a nice climb to the top of the rock.
Goolman Lookout via Rocky Knoll (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
22 Jan, 2017
Medium
7.4km
2 hrs
The hike to Goolman Lookout was pleasant and not at all difficult. The trail was wide and accessible, with some steep sections but no climbing or scrambling required.

I walked back via the ‘Rocky Knoll’ Lookout which, true to its name, was a rocky knoll which you can only access by climbing over a barbed-wire fence 😳

Gamlen Circuit (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

I did this as part of the broader Goolman Lookout/Rocky Knoll walk; I don't think it would be that interesting on its own.

Flinders Peak (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

Hard

Another hike of Flinder's today. Quite enjoyable but the view at the top of Maroon is nicer IMO. It was really hot so if you're hiking in summer take heaps of water.
Toohey Mountain Track & Mayne Ridge Track (Brisbane City Council Local Walks)

I’ve done this walk a few times. Nothing too amazing but not bad either.
The Federation Track (Brisbane City Council Local Walks)

Medium

40 mins
There is a cave complex you can access from this walk, photos and details here: https://juicedpixels.com/2016/06/27/mount-gravatt-caves/
This is a regular walk of mine for fitness. I extend it by going through the fire access tracks south of the water tower which come around near Griffith Uni and connect back up.
Mt Ngungun (Glass House Mountains National Park)

Medium

Did this walk after a failed attempt at Tibro just prior.

This is a nice easy walk with some great views at the top. Would do it again if nearby.
Sandy Creek Track (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)

Walked along here on way up Mt Blaine from the East side. Not a very challenging track - very easy.
Mt Warning Summit Trail (Wollumbin National Park)

Hiked this today. Harder than I remember. Full review here: https://juicedpixels.com/2016/11/30/mount-warning/
Hell Hole Falls (Mt Jerusalem National Park)
30 Nov, 2016
Medium
5.1km return
105 mins
I walked this today after mount warning and I must say I was very disappointed. The water holes were stagnant and covered in insects and there was no one there swimming or anything.

And the walk back to the car is hard after walking down hill and not even having a swim. I definitely wouldn't go again.
Burringbar Range Tunnel (New South Wales)
30 Nov, 2016
Easy
6.2km return
2.5 hrs
I enjoyed the tunnel but the walk didn't seem that enjoyable in the heat.

I realised afterwards you can drive all the way along tunnel road and jump over the fence if you just want to walk through the tunnel.
Mt Blaine Summit Trail (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
28 Nov, 2016
Hard
5km return
3 hrs
A very enjoyable walk/scramble to the summit. It was raining over the weekend so it was a bit muddy/slippery - especially coming down which was a bit harder than going up.

The prickly pear cacti at the summit were in bloom which was nice.

I ended up coming down the way I came up because I couldn't find the marked track that goes down opposite from when I came up - I tried left, right and straight down for a few minutes each and couldn't see any pieces of tape so I came back up and went down the regular way. Which way is down?
Mt Blaine Base Trail (Ipswich - Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate)
28 Nov, 2016
Medium
2km return

This is a fire trail that was freshly mowed that leads to the summit trail. It wouldn't really be worth doing on its own; just as a way to access the summit trail for Mt. Blaine.
