A lot of information is provided on such a short walk. There was a nice fire circle at the start of the walk. Not sure if this is available to the public or only with a ranger. I combined this with Egernia Cct and Thylogale Track making a combined total of about 10.5km.

Lovely shady environment for a walk on a hot day. Black Creek was only barely running but I had a nice dip in the pool at the base of Cedar Ck falls before heading up Black Creek and again in Cedar Creek after rejoining it after Love Creek. The trip up Black creek got very overgrown to the point I had to retreat and try a different route. No doubt conditions will change on a regular basis here but I found a relatively clear path to the right of this scunge. I tried to leave creek at a pumphouse but again was forced back due to mass growth of lantana. Pushed on about 200metres and after a junction with another creek before finding a reasonably clear path up towards a house (not visible from creek) and joining the road. I did the western window loop after reaching Mt Glorious Rd which added around 1.6km to circuit but was a nice easy, well shaded addition . Saw 4 common tree snakes of varying sizes, heaps of lizards and bird life during this walk. In the pool at the base of Cedar Ck falls I saw a turtle and eel. Heading down to Greenes Fall I came across a couple of a Red-necked Pademelons but they were too quick for me to snap a photo.. |

Nice walk, quite scenic around the lake. Ran into a large goanna on the track that was just ambling along, not at all interested in darting for the nearest tree. Got plenty of close up photos. Also saw a green tree snake on the bridge on the way back. Walked in the middle of the day and came across a couple of other groups of walkers/birdwatchers.

I combined this walk with Araucaria Track. On the return I came across a common tree snake on the bridge which eventually slid between the planks to disappear below.

I combined this walk with the Turrbal Cct Track which made for a combined distance of about 2.7km. Interesting walk, lots of photo ops, and plenty of history. Would be a good one to take the family on.

Nice walk, certainly felt the calves burning on the way back up. Would be very slippery in the wet. As it was I slid a metre backwards whilst attempting to go up Chapel Hill Rd Track. With a couple of bridges to cross over dry gullies one would expect quite a torrent of water in the right conditions.

Not a very scenic route. Follows 4X4 fire management trail up ridgeline towards Channel 9 tower before branching left and returning to carpark. Reasonably steep in places.

I took right hand track and followed it right past the mountain to a locked gate where I veered sharp left and made my way up the south western flank. No track and scrub is quite thick in places but relatively straightforward climb to summit. Descended via northern face but had to keep veering east to avoid a cliff face. Rejoined fire management track and back to car park. 1.8km return, 44 minutes, elevation gain 70 metres.

Followed instructions but did not find water tank. Came out at a dam on North East corner of Tibro. Turned left (north) and followed powerlines to top of ridge where I could look down and see Barrs Rd on the other side of a pineapple plantation. I turned sharp left and scrub bashed my way west then south then west then south until I eventually found myself at the highest point. There are no rock cairns to mark the summit. From here I continued south for a couple of hundred metres weaving around to avoid the worst of the undergrowth. Eventually I came out on an open verge, not exactly a cliff face but a clear view of Tibro. I then weaved my way in a generally south west direction down some exposed rock faces (not very steep) and rejoined the fire management trail just before the fork in the track as described in the previous track notes. Total distance 3.7km. Elevation gain 150m. Time 1hr 25minutes.

Started at Baroon Pocket Dam and finished at Mapleton. Didn't wear my boots in sufficiently and got severe blisters before lunch on 1st day. Happy joy! Did this walk with my 14y.o. son. Navigation very easy as very well signposted and track well trodden throughout. Had 3 days above 35degrees but it is well shaded throughout and possibility of a swim on every day although Gheerulla Creek was only a trickle but did find a beautiful waterhole about a kilometre shy of Gheerulla Camping & Trail Biking area. Great views at times, lovely waterholes and 'would be' magnificent waterfalls if creeks were running faster than a trickle.

Did this walk with my two kids, Liam (14) & Indigo (11). Ascended western peak via an obvious foot track. Path between two peaks was pretty obvious, although a bit of a scramble in places. Descended via northern ridge of eastern peak. Track hard to discern and loose rocks underfoot. A little tricky with my younger one. Once we reached the tree line the track pretty much disappeared but it was only a short scramble down to 4WD track and left back to car. |
