Firstly thanks for the pic showing trail.....overgrown track at times...bit hard to locate or to think it may be a runoff but persist and it will pay off. Hiking boots recommended and have some water with you as can make for a challenging hike with a nice rest place at the bluff I think they call it.

Did this hike this morning. Parked at Dorson drive Mooloolah , walked through tunnel ( no bats this morning ) and further along up the Myla Track , this one is steep at times , follow through via Roses Circuit to almost a 10km return hike. Most of this is shared by either/or Mountain bike riders / horse riders.

If not clear , this one is not for beginners , there are a couple steep sections along the way with some loose rocks but the last 300m is quite steep and does require a level of fitness and decent footwear. Well worth the views when you get on top. yes there are 2 mobile phone towers but let that not scare you off , you can still get a nice view and pic along the edges BUT be careful. Worth it !!!

Nice walk via the falls up to Ubajee viewpoint , about 4.6km return hike from car park. Up to the falls is pretty much flat but to get to Ubajee viewpoint and/or campbase it's 1.8km up the mountain , not too steep but be aware you're going uphill !

Combined this with hiking up at Ubajee viewpoint via the Falls. We had some showers but not really enough....will come back after a downpour. Nice easy walk along dirt track in cool conditions. Peaceful surroundings but do wear decent footwear as some tricky parts and/or slippery/muddy after some rain.

Finally after years of driving past made some time to explore. It's about 7km away from main road. Nice easy walk , beautiful little spot. Housed by some bats and did not see myself but apparently you can spot the odd platypus in amongst the Palm trees where river runs through.

Completed did walk today and hiked up Mt allan twice as I walked down to Bolumba Creek to see the Gold Mine , so back over Mt Allan to Charlie Moreland Camp site. 18km round trip , but so worth it even just the 8.8km return from Charlie to top and back. Wide open spaces to view.

If you have no 4wd to access Booloumba Creek camp ground you can get here via Charlie Moreland camp ground BUT and it's a big BUT , you will need to hike over Mt Allan and back this round trip is almost 17.8km !!!!! A decent level of fitness is required and sufficient amount of time ! |
