An easy .6K walk but wow - what lovely scenery along the way. Cliff-faces/drops on either side as you walk along a spur, so be careful with kids.

Well marked with blue paint. Some steep bits indeed. Very windy at peak. But walk back is easy. Took me 2.5 hours.

Surprised to pass at least 3 different walkers in thongs. Not sure how they went with the rocky bits. The ascent, which took under an hour, got the heart racing and I needed a shirt change at the summit. Not much to see while climbing, but various views through trees at the peak were wonderful.

A challenging incline and a rocky/palmy descent, but well worth it for the views and sense of pride in making the summit. I lost the track a few times during scrambles on the ascent and where palms covered the track on the descent, but calmly re-found it relatively easily. If you are a person who likes constant signage, this may not be the walk for you.

Did the entire loop, including Heritage Walk and Gov's Armchair. Loved the views through trees atop Mt Mathieson and did not get leeched despite comments below. Plenty of rocky outcrops to take in surrounds and pix from between 1.7 - 2 kilometres in. Few minor obstacles on track but easy to circumnavigate.

Regrowth well under way post bushfires with many clearer sightlines to rocks along the way - a lot of them balancing (!) - but sadly the track to The Sphinx and Turtle Rock closed since them due to falling trees. |
