Fantastic view! Very short, easy walk - a bit steep and all concrete.

Second time doing this hike. Fantastic walk. Much hotter and more biting insects than last time (June 2019) but no swamp and easy creek crossings! Fantastic swimming at Zoe and Mulligans falls.

Much better walk than expected. Despite the lack of views and some fire damage near the start, the forest is beautiful. Lots of bird life although mostly heard not seen! The path up is steep but reasonable well defined and easy to follow. We continued to Lizard Point which is definitely reccomended - fantastic views. It took us about 1 1/2 hours one way to the Superbus summit and another 2 hours on to Lizard Point. Slightly quicker on the way back down.

I had visited the Stinson via the stretcher track previously so this time we decided to go the short but steep way up from Christmas Creek. It took us about 3 hours each way from Christmas Creek to Point Lookout. Worth continuing on to Point Lookout for the view of Mount Warning and the Lamington plateau. Amazing forest, pretty walking following the creek to Westray's grave and an initially very steep hike up to the Stinson campsite.

A very pleasant walk as always. Went up palm gorge and down the ridge this time. Both gorges are beautiful but personally I prefer the ridge for the descent - good views and easier down hill.

We had hiked this previously and only seen a few people. This time it was packed to the point of being unpleasant - following a conga line back down the mountain! The views are great and it is a steep but straightforward hike with only a brief section of scrambling. The track is extremely well worn so no navigational problems.

Not too hard to find the cave and great views once you get there. The cave to the summit was a lot more challenging navigationally! We used a GPS track from alltrails.

The previous comment nearly put us off doing this walk. Glad we ignored it and went anyway! We had done this walk a couple of times before and the path was no worse than we remembered from several years ago. If anything the bushfires at the start of the year mean there is less vegetation at the moment. Given that this is not a maintained or marked trail it is still reasonable easy to follow. The descent route from South peak has not been impacted by fires at all. |
