Warrie Circuit

Springbrook National Park

Beautiful walk through the valley. Pass and go through lots of waterfalls and rainforest.

Stop at Apple Tree Park for toilet stop on way. Circuit is another 5-10min drive from there.

Public toilets are also located at Tallanbana Picnic Area approximately 300m on the right before Canyon Lookout where Warrie Circuit begins - toilets are set back off the road and can't be seen from the road, but, they're there just behind the picnic tables.

Cuts across the Ngarri-dhum Falls a few times in one half, and the Little Nerang Creek in the other half. The half way point is the Meeting of the Waters where (as the name suggests) the two creeks meet.

Route/Trail notes

From the Canyon lookout turn right and follow the path. The path is extremely well signed and marked. There are a few turnoffs for the 4km Twin Falls circuit, but stay right. It's virtually impossible to get lost. The first few kilometres head downhill past a few beautiful waterfalls. After while you lose altitude into the rainforest. A few switch backs downhill and you end up at the half way point, where all the creeks meet. Beautiful place to stop for lunch.

The walk back up hill isn't steep with lots of switch backs. At one stage near the top you get near another waterfall. There's a sign pointing to the Twin Falls circuit, but turn right and walk behind the waterfall. Best part of the trek! Follow the climb back up and walk along the ridge back to the car, checking out views all the way to Surfers Paradise.

It says to allow 5 hours. My friend and I did this track in 3hours 45 minutes: this was at quite a fast pace though as we were racing against the sun going down in the afternoon.

We did come across a large snake taking up the path and had to wait 15 mins while it decided it move.

We did it in an anti clockwise fashion. When we hit the meeting of the two creeks we wernt sure where to go; we had passed the track continuing to the left as we approached the creek without noticing. Only spot we wernt sure about. Well marked trail. My GPS said it was 15km.

On this day the track had a sign saying closed.
We did not see any other people during the whole of the walk.

Beautiful hike but currently it is technically closed. I wouldn't let that stop you though we saw a few other couples on the hike and the track is in fine condition save a few fallen trees that are easy enough to climb over or under. Don't take Springbrook Road on the way there at the moment as it's closed, head to Advancetown instead and go from there.

A magnificent rainforest walk with plenty of waterfalls to see (and go under) along the way. Picked up a couple of leeches, no big deal. Plenty of wildlife to see also. Well worth the effort :-)

Great walk - did this easily in 6 hours with my 8 year old son. Really enjoyed the changes in vegetation. Leeches abound here after the rain.

Beautiful waterfalls and streams after the rain. Lots of leeches though 😜. And lots of freshwater crayfish. Very nice to see. Please do not take!!!

One of the best walks so far! This is a must. Beautiful rainforests, walking behind waterfalls and amazing views out towards Gold Coast. Would definitely recommend! Plan after some rainfall to see the waterfalls at their best. Some bits are a little overgrown but luckily we didn't encounter any leeches. Plenty of skinks and birds. HUGE spider as well!

Reading most of the comments about this walk I figured it would be paved with handrails and escalators on the steep bits! Was nicely surprised to find it a great day bushwalk. It has been well thought out with the track going behind waterfalls at both ends (nothing beats sticking your head into the cool water). Recommend doing this after rain so the waterfalls and creeks are flowing well, but water = leeches so be prepared. Wore long pants, gaiters and was vigilant - meant for a 'warm' walk, but they kept the blighters at bay. Had lunch at Poonyahra Falls - beautiful spot, but we struggled to find decent shade. Did the walk anticlockwise so we ended up with stunning views (and cool breezes) at the end, after a hot slog up out of the valley. Recommend starting early to try and miss most of the heat of the day.

Such an amazing walk! Why don't more people know about this one! The water levels weren't very high but we managed to swim in 3 different spots. Absolutely freezing but worth it! Saw a beautiful python hanging out beside the track. Little traffic. Would recommend to everyone! Very easy, only tiring near the end. We started at 830 am and finished at 430 pm as we took it slow and took it all in!

Did the walk with the GC Midweek Walking Group. We quickly got over the disappointment of not being able to do the full circuit due to some construction work around Tallabana Picnic Area and Twin Falls. We decided to head down to the Meeting of the Waters via Canyon Lookout and the northern section of the Twin Falls Circuit.
The track was dry but recent rain meant the falls were flowing. After passing behind Blackfellow Falls, we joined the Warrie Circuit and headed down via Poondahra and Poonyahra Falls. We encountered a Python and a green tree snake, (the latter scarily looking like a yellow bellied brown) before we got to the rugged Gooroolba Falls.
We lunched at the Meeting of the Waters in the company of a slow moving red bellied black.
The weather cooled nicely for the climb back up. We only covered 12 kms instead of 17, but thoroughly enjoyed the walk, all the while accompanied by whip birds, cat birds and a mysterious noise maker.

Pretty wet under foot after a night of rain, and a few leeches hitched a ride. Beautiful all the same, took around 4 hours 20 as we took our time.

Great walk with so many lovely spots to take in the waterfalls and up the top, the gorgeous view. We were lucky enough to not see any leeches. Took about 3 hr 20min but we marched along and didn't really stop for lunch- only a snack break for 5 mins and pics on the way. There was a bit of rain this week so the falls had an abundance of water. So glad we did this circuit and on such a beautiful day.

Amazing walk with amazing views and plenty of waterfalls, especially the one you walk behind. Rocks were slippery due to recent rainfall, no leech problem for us. Highly recommend - took around 4hrs

Nice waterfalls. Beautiful area.

SabrinaBlaas on 15 May, 2016

Wonderful way to spend 4-5 hours. There are many streams and waterfalls to break up this longish walk. Footing can be a little tricky in some places, but never steep or treacherous. The "meeting of the waters" area is an excellent lunch stop. It is slightly mis-marked on the trail map, but it is clearly signed on the trail. I couldn't believe all the natural beauty on this trail. PS - You will get a few leeches dropping on you!

Great walk, we walked anti clockwise about 9k down, 7k up. Very well signed track. Great views.

Beautiful walk with many waterfalls. Easy track to follow, overgrown in parts.

Amazing bushwalk.. Went with my partner and we are both pretty fit but it took about 4.5 hours lol because every 5 minutes I had to stop and check her for leeches.. :)

Rained whilst we were walking which was nice and refreshing although made the track quite muddy and slippery.. The waterfalls are amazing.. And had to cross water twice so recommend wearing some good hiking boots that you won't care about being water logged..

First offical comment on this site but have been using to find some nice places.. Will keep posting moving forwards.. :)

Fabulous hike with diverse experiences from creeks to waterfalls, rubble to caves, rainforest to drier areas. Simply stunning. Relatively new (agsin) to bushwalking we took 6 hours which included multiple stops and a leisurely lunch and exploration around Meeting of the Creeks spot.
We did the circuit in anti clockwise direction ie turned right at Canyon Lookout. We encountered several trees that had fallen across the path two of which presented a challenge to climb over. One about 1 km out from the meeting of creeks; the second one 2 km past meeting of the creeks.
After lunch the relentless uphill walk was quite challenging and
slowed us down considerably. Frequent stops to balance my beating heart meant this part took longer than anticipated. Allow additional time for this section when you are calculating your total time!!! Set out early if you are not fit.
Overall an amazing achievement. Well done us!!
