Dove Canyon

Dove Canyon is a half day track that starts in myrtle rainforest, progresses through open forest past a steep canyon and finishes by crossing buttongrass plains. With one steep section some fitness is required but its lower elevation makes it attractive as an option in poorer weather. Features visited include Pencil Pine Falls, Knyvet Falls and Dove Canyon.

Dove Lake Circuit

This 6km track is one of Tasmania’s premier walks. It will take you right around Dove Lake and beneath the towering spires of Cradle Mountain. The track is boardwalked for much of the way. Highlights: Glacier Rock, Ballroom Forest and the Boatshed.

Enchanted Walk

A walk to suit all age groups. For company there’s a cascading river, wombat burrows and magical old-growth rainforest. The walk will take you through buttongrass moorland before entering cool temperate rainforest along the edges of Pencil Pine Creek. Along the track are three interpretive tunnels that kids and kids at heart will find fun to crawl through!

A track along the northern face of Weindorfers Tower and Little Horn, two of the summits of Cradle Mountain.

Hansons Peak

Hansons Peak is directly across Dove Lake from Marions Lookout and provides fantastic views of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. Other features seen include Lake LIlla and Lake Hanson and on a clear day through to Mt Pelion East in the distance.

Hartnett Falls

Follow the trail down to the top of Hartnett Falls. From here the trail follows the cliffline downstream before hooking down to the river. From here depending on water levels you can go right out to the base of the falls.

Knyvet Falls

This short walk near the Cradle Mountain Discovery Centre and Cradle Mountain Lodge passes through myrtle rainforest to a viewing platform at the top of Knyvet Falls. A short side track also leads to the base of Pencil Pine Falls. Perfect for those looking for a shorter walk in the Cradle Mountain area.

Lake Lilla Track

Walk between Dove Lake and the Ronny Creek carpark past Lake Lilla at Cradle Mountain. Lucky walkers will find wombats feeding beside the boardwalk in the Ronny Creek valley.

Lake Will

The walk to Lake Will is roughly 3km return although if you follow the overgrown path along the edge of Lake Will for roughly 5.1km return all up you can make it out to Innes Falls.
