The entrance is much easier to find coming from Greenbank. We tried finding it from the other end but didn't see the track. There is also a solid line on the road making entering from that end illegal. We ended up driving to Greenbank where we used a round about to turn back and looked out for the welcome to Ipswich sign. Easy. The walk was easy to follow.

Lovely natural bushland on this nice easy track. We began one of the walks, but had to turn back part way round because the track is cut while work is done on one of the bridges.

That was a great walk. The first part up the mountain was quite steep, particularly for about 300m near the top. After we passed the top it was a bit disconcerting wondering if we were actually on the right track. The concrete road down is very steep and the thought of having to back track wasn't real exciting. We didn't see any signs at all until we'd walked 7km which was when we reached the T intersection. The sign there says 5km to the rock pools. It was a really pleasant walk - nice and shaded. The roads are mostly really good.

Lovely walk overlooking the Brisbane River. The path is very well maintained. We thought it was shorter than it said though - about 1.7km. It took about 25 minutes.

We only climbed this mountain today. Parts of the track are quite slippery with lots of loose rocks and steep. It makes me nervous about the east mountain but maybe some other time. The path at the bottom has some muddy parts at the moment but easy enough to navigate around. The bush at the bottom is quite picturesque. All in all this is a great walk.

We walked this path on the return trip of a walk from Newstead House to Southbank which is another walk that we do regularly and highly recommend. That return walk is about 20km. We did the boardwalk in the evening which gave us a beautiful view of the city lights. Just lovely!

Nice easy walk to the side of Ewen Maddock Dam. There are lots of picnic tables and seats along the path. We found a different track to walk back on so made it a loop. Note there are no toilets here.

We didn't see any graffiti on the trees so maybe these have been removed. We saw the barb wire fence near the concrete slab and as there is a large gap in the fence decided to go through up to the top. You don't have too much of a view from the top. You can see a little through the trees but that's about it. We missed a turn on the way down and came out at the turnoff on Steve Erwin Way so we had to walk back on the road.

Always a great walk. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are here. It's Friday and we still had trouble getting a park. Today there were even two buses here. Still had a great time though.

Wow what a great walk right on the Gold Coast. Two great lookouts and we loves the boulder strewn rainforest. We started at the Burleigh end and returned via the rainforest circuit. While ora an easy walk it's not flat. There are some steep sections. Also the first part of the walk on the Burleigh end is currently cut off but there are signs showing the alternate route along the road.

We started the walk at the Landsborough end. They are doing some work on the train tracks at the moment and the fence between the train tracks and the walking track is down at the moment. According to the sign the work should have been completed but they are still working. We had to move off the track once for a truck to pass. The tunnel is fun and that end of the track isn't cut off.

Lovely walk. We got a bit confused when we reached Forgans Park after half a km and the path seemed to disappear. However a rough track picks up at the other side of the park that follows the bottom of a rock wall. At the other end of the wall signage picks up again. I'm not sure if we missed something but the sign says 4.2km to Forgans Cove one way and we didn't see signage for a loop. There were a couple of side tracks however that we didn't take. The return walk took us one hour 50 minutes.

This is a good walk with lots of moist gullies to pass over, Due to the recent rain, many of these were running which was cool. There were a few leeches. Some parts were muddy, and we had to take care not to slip. This part of the rainforest is a bit dryer than the other parts, but still really nice.

We walked this track as part of the Credition Creek Track. Starting at the other end we were hoping for at least a picnic table when we arrived at the access point but there wasn't anything. I think there are at Credition Hall but we didn't walk down there as we wanted to get back to Broken River Visitor's Area. The track itself was great. We saw a lot of fungi along the way probably because of the recent wet weather. |
