A paved but very steep walk leads 700 metres uphill through a small area of rainforest, then winds up through eucalyptus woodland to a fire tower. There is a 360 degree view of the Glass House Mountains and other parts of South East Queensland from the summit. On a clear day, Brisbane CBD is visible too. When descending the fire tower, go down backwards as you would with any ladder, several people have tried to go down forward and had very nasty accidents.

Route/Trail notes:

From the trailhead car park, a zigzag track leads you up through the trees to the old car park. From hear you have a steep hike on the paved fire tower access road, that doesn't end until you are at the top. Some seats along the way to take a rest on. Great views from the first floor of the fire tower.

Return by the same route.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

Get to the track before lunchtime to enjoy your time at the top and take plenty of water.

GPS tracked 1.5km return. We did it in 27 mins.
Hard going on the way up! We had to take lots of breaks.

Very steep and and a personal challenge but worth every meter. Breath taking view from the top.

This was our 2nd mountain of the day. My first time and it was very steep and difficult. A narrow concrete path that winded up and up and up until you reach the lookout. Only about 30 mins to the top but a very satisfying view!

Steep but the track is sealed. An awesome lookout at the top. Beautiful during sunset.

The walk was really steep. The view was fantastic for sunset.

Nice, easy, simple walk up a very steep, quad killing mountain. 3rd summit i climed on my 7 summits in one day challenge.

This was one of the most steepest things I've ever walked! It is unrelenting.. IT just goes and goes until you reach the top. It may not be very long in distance but the incline is so steep I felt like my face was touching the floor. Definitely one to give a go though! IT's worth it. But try go on a clear day :) (and hopefully not on a hot day as well cause youll feel the burn ;) )

Steep. Nice views from fire tower

That was one hard walk. So steep. It's amazing how such a short work can work you so much.

I attempted to run this. I ran about 100 of the 700m (and failed epically due to the ridiculous incline). Fantastic views though!

My partner and I underestimated this walk. 700m of burning calves and thighs!
Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The view at the top was so-so, but the climb up was a fun challenge.

Walked up again after hiking on Mt Coochin...since I was in the area :-)

After completing Mt Mike & The Twins in the morning Beerburrum was a nice change of pace. Although steep, the paved path was straightforward and the view from the fire tower was impressive.

Take heed of the "hard' track acknowledgement. This track is only 700 (ish) metres but is one of the most challenging short climbs you will take on. Quite a steep incline that does not give up till u get to the top. Real calf burner and cardio workout. Found myself walking on the balls of my feet just to keep moving ahead. Great views from the firetower. Definitely worth all the effort!

Mt Beerburrum is only a 700 Metre walk, but its a hard 700 Metre's ! The steep incline does not stop until you reach the top, and this little Glasshouse Mountain has made my calf muscles burn harder than other Mountians I've climbed Double its size. It has a concrete path the entire way up to the top. At the summit, there is a lookout, which you can climb via a ladder, to catch the awesome 360 degree view.

Great views

Great look out! Short, but steep.

Nice walk. great views. very steep walk up the concrete path, definately tested the fitness and lung capacity. realy enjoyed

Very steep, concreted walk with the occasional "resting rock" en route. Had to go slower and hold the kids hands on the way back down so they wouldn't rush and fall. (5 and 7yr olds) Awesome 360 degree views of the Glasshouse Mountains and Moreton Bay stretching from Brisbane to Sunshine Coast.

Very steep walk with breathtaking views can't wait to do it again
