Mount Ngungun (pronounced 'noo noo')but generally known as "Gun Gun" is a very popular hike due to its relative ease and fantastic views. Traditional owners have asked that this mountain not be climbed.

A well defined graded track with some steep sections. The track begins in open forest with a fern understory. Part way up the mountain, there is a great view of Mt Tibrogargan as the track passes a small rock overhang. The summit provides spectacular close-up views of nearby Mt Tibrogargan, Mt Tibberoowuccum, Mt Coonowrin and Mt Beerwah.

Route/Trail notes:

A graded path starts from the sign post and information board. Follow the path, which switch backs up the hill till you reach a steep, loose, rocky gully, requiring big steps or light scramble/rock hop up. When you reach the top, it's a good place to have a rest, picnic and the view.

Return by retracing your steps.

This was #3 of a 6 peaks in one day challenge I did with my daughter, daughter-in-law, and 12yr old granddaughter. An easy walk with some rock scrambling at the top. Spectacular 360degree view from the top. Car park was full so a popular walk.

Everybody does this track, many do it just for training/exercise so it can get busy. Sunrise is often packed up the top. Nice family walk. My 75 year old mother made it up last year. It was slow with lots of stops but she made it! Take water and a snack for the top. It's nice to stay up there for a bit and admire the view.

The track was fine, the cliffs on the south side, climbing were more challenging. Did this with my son, and Pinnacle crew. Great time. Great views. The estate down below, must be in awe, living so close to these Glass House mtns.

First time up and it was incredible ! Very steep climb but you are rewarded with beautiful views. Take a jacket if you are doing this one in winter as it can be very cold ! :)
